Bps Stik O Worms 7 1/4"
I use use Gama's 7/0 or the VMC in 7/0. I have also used the Pumpkin ED 3/8 shakey head with 6/0 wide gap for a totally different presentation. I've caught some good ones on it!

Daiwa Rod Returns Experiences
Hey guys I hope that I am asking this in the right place, if not hopefully the mod's will move it. Just today I bought a Daiwa Exceler rod for my wife. It was going to be her first baitcasting set up to determine if she was going to like it or not. Long story short, I put reel and line on the rod flexed the tip with the line and the blank shattered and split along the 1-2nd eyelet. It's not an expensive rod by any means, but never had a rod do that. There must have been something up with the blank because I visually inspected it before I bought it. The shop owner says all sales are final and I am curious if anyone has any experience with returning rod direct to Daiwa and if it is even worth the hassle for such an inexpensive rod. Your thoughts, experiences and opinions are welcomed.

Birdshot For Home Defense??????
There are a couple boxes of old clothes that were left in our attic when the previous owner of our home passed away. There are some heavy winter coats and things like that and I think I will do some penetration test with them since they are going to the be dumped anyways. However I will set them up on a mount...I will not be wearing them lol

Ribbontail Worm Vs. Straight Tail Worm
I love my curly tail worms and I do occasionally fish the straight tail worms, but my all time fav is the Mann's Jelly work in 12 inch. Tech its a paddle tail, but it would be my choice if I could only have one.

Same Fish ?
I have caught the same fish two years in a row now, but both occasions have been in the spawn and at the same locations. He is a very distinctive fish with one eye and major jaw damage from when he was a much smaller fish. It can happen!

How To Deal With Girlfriends/wives?
I have seen that some guys support the idea of a GF or wife that is into fishing and then others the opposing. Personally, my fiancee is my very best fishing friend in life. Some know, and others don't, that I broke my leg in early March during a ice/snow storm here in KY. My leg was broken in five places total and it was the first time in my life that I was really dependent upon another person. Heather cared for me better any any nursing staff could have after my surgery, all while taking care of her two wonderful kiddos and working her job as an instructor/social worker for court ordered parenting/divorce classes. With being off from work and the cold weather I became really depressed about not getting out of the house and missing the spawning action. Heather took me out in a wheel chair to fish on two occasions and has taken me out 8-9 times since I have been on crutches. In those trips I have caught two nice fish and one of them was prob a personal best. With the crutches is was to easy to fall when trying to land fish and she has lipped every big fish I have caught in the last few weeks. One bedding bass was caught in some cattails and she literally had to get on her hands and knees to untangle the fish so it could be landed. She helps me in and out of the car, carries gear and takes the photos you have seen on here. Guys I am so blessed to have a woman in my life who loves to fish like I do because I would have literally missed the best couple weeks of fishing that I have had in my bass fishing life. She went to Classic with me in Feb and has requested that we make plans to go to Tulsa next year for the Classic too. Just remember that you might be in a position where you need a fishing buddy that you also call your better half ...kinda get teary eyed thinking about it lol

Psa Jj's Magic Desolves Z Man's Elaztech
It has been a few years ago now, but I remember the first time I ever seen JJ's in action. My fishing buddy was STOKED about his first bottle and was basically giving me the sales pitch of how great the stuff was going to be. He cracked open the bottle and dipped a Netbait Paca Chunk SR jig trailer...IDK what he did, but he pulled that chunk out and the claws just dissolved right off the body. It was just ironic to me and I could have rolled on the deck laughing. I have since used JJ's with Netbait with no problems, but on that day it just ate the plastic up. Seems like some plastics constructions are not JJ's proof lol.

Stupid Decision Buying High End Rods/reels?
My attitude has always been this, get what you want if that is what makes you happy. If you bought the lower end gear would just have been wishing that you got the better gear? With any given hobby there is upper or lower priced gear, sometimes higher end makes a difference and at other the difference is minimal. Get what you want and what makes you happy within the reason of what you can afford.

Just Had To Post...great Officer
First ill explain that I encounter all kinds of folks in my day to day job. It would be safe for me to say that i have encountered most types who are on this forum because not everyone I meet goes to jail. In fact I interact far more with people who do not go to jail or are not issued a citation than do. Frankly I see and interact with veterans, upstanding citizens, business people, average joe's etc etc etc. My statements about encountering people like you was not meant to be negative in the least, but it is good to hear that you have never been arrested, but I give you "no props" for that because following the law of the land is just part of your civic duty. Doing what it takes to not go to jail is what every citizen should be doing! Doesn't it just kinda sound rude when said that way....idk it prob just me. When I encounter people who are doing what they need to be doing I thank them for being a contributing part of society. Nothing wrong with thanking an officer for their service any different from thanking a serviceman or woman for their services to the nation. If we just looked at service people and said "no props" to you, your doing what you signed up to do, then would we look like rude jerks or what? Nothing personal in anyway man best of luck and tight lines this fishing season!

Just Had To Post...great Officer
Hmmm...I work as a deputy sheriff and see folks like you a lot. The public has an interesting opinion of what the job of local law enforcement is or is not. This conservation officer in the course of doing his job took time away from launching and doing his duties to accommodate the needs of the public as a courtesy. The officer made a comment that alluded to the fact that he did not issue any citations for that day...he certainly did not have to do that. I guess when you serve the public you are darned if you do and darned if you don't.

Guys Please Be Careful In The Sun!
Had a very similar experience after I had surgery for my broken leg. The Dr. had me on strong IV antibiotics post surgery at the hospital and sent me home with several weeks worth of oral antibiotics. My first trip out for 45 minutes resulted in a bad burn. It is important to know the side effects of medications that your on...I learned the hard way too! Hope that burn heals up soon.

Another Pig
Well guys I headed out after work for a little fishing. It was slow on the bites since the skies were blue bird...those are my hardest days to fish. There was a good wind on the lake and the temps have warmed back up with air temps at 70 for the high. After the weekend cold front and the return to warm temps I don't have an accurate reading on temps for the lake, but water conditions were stained and muddy in some areas. I did manage to pull out this one fish with a homemade Jika Rig fishing a Zoom Brush Hog in Green Pumpkin. Not as big as earlier this week, but a good fish none the less. It may not quite be a pig for other anglers, but it was my pig for today! (I'm not intoxicated in this pic...Heather just caught me blinking lol)
