  1. If you search Plano Fishing on FB, you will see it. The only thing that gives me pause is it oddly only has 2950 likes. Based on all the Edge box stuff posted there it looks legit.
  2. I am going to treat them like Rage plastics, I will search for deals and stock up when I can. With the deals at Outlet Bait I will have 20 more War Eagles in my box after Christmas when I get them. It was my first order from them so we will see how it goes. By being patient I have a healthy stock of Bandit 100s for the river and plenty of Menace grubs to last me a few years. Sales are awesome, except the ones where they are clearing out discontinued stock that we rely on.
  3. Did just see on FB that they are offering a 3500 size and a 3600 terminal box now. Maybe a 3600 jig box is in the works. The two new offers should make some happy that we’re looking for smaller boxes. Will be curious on price.
  4. I did pick up some from outlet bait and they had a 2 pack for 6.58, unfortunately limit 5 but that is ten more baits. Definitely found they aren't a money saver. Save that for the strike king bleeding bait spins which have been very good to me over the years. This year we had really bad weather conditions that shut down all but the spin bite, and the war eagle won the day, so know I have a few backups. I will look at these when I do my next TW order.
  5. The question is the wire different on the War Eagles, super thin or something else, that gives them more vibration than other spins? The war eagle and SK baits were similar physical sizes, just a 16th ounce different in weight. I have read in the past that War eagle used thin wire and this is one reason so many used them, not sure if this is true. I could measure the wire and see if I could order blanks with that size wire.
  6. So last year I got some 1/4 ounce war eagle spinnerbaits when Lurenet had a good sale going on. Not knowing what they were I only bought 4 each of 2 different blade combos. Flash forward to this year when I had to rely heavily on spinnerbaits to catch fish I found that a 1/4 ounce war eagle seemed to out produce a 3/16 SK bleeding bait spinnerbait that has done really well for me in the past by what seemed to be a noticeable margin. What I liked about the War Eagle was the number of bites, what I didn't like was having to rebend them after every fish. I ended up losing the 2 I took with and switched to only the strike king spin. The strike king didn't need to be rebent after every fish, but it definitely had the wire bent by the head at the end of the week and the hook gap was opened a bit. With the price of spinnerbaits is it worth it to keep buying the War Eagles at full price? Since I wasn't reeling them side by side at the same time, it is hard to truly say one was better than the other. My boat mate had a war eagle tied on one trip and he bested me 3 fish to 1, but our retrieves could have been totally different. I am just struggling with the thought of paying over 7 bucks for a spinnerbait. If TW does a black friday sale that would help. Also do you all net spinnerbait fish to limit bending of the bait? Part 2 So I really like 1/4 and 3/16 ounce spinnerbaits for bass. They seem to do better for me than the heavier options. Why is it so difficult to find spinnerbaits in these weights, especially the better brands? I don't want the walmart 1$ baits, I want something to last a while.
  7. While I love the jig/bladed jig box, nothing has come close to replacing the Plano 4700 double deck box I use for plastics (I have quite a few of these) or the sub 10$ Plano deep 3700 for cranks. Love the brand, just not the overpriced boxes, won't buy bass mafia either, more of a budget guy.
  8. I like a KVD explaining the bait wraps. I expected yeh it saves me from tangles in the rod locker, nope not KVD it hides my baits from the competition;) If I needed another spinning combo the Crush would be the way to go, but my spinning setups are dialed in. I will pick up two KVD baitcasters even though I love my Crush and the new one looks better lol. The KVD just sounds like a better reel.
  9. Seeing what others like is always interesting. The rage Ned craw does less than zero for me, especially knowing it will be 6.99. Even cheaper I wouldn’t go near it. I know others can’t wait:) Watching the Strike King video I found a gem for northern WI waters with the KVD J100 Jerkbait. That thing should be money for me next year. I will also pick up 2 of the Lews KVD reels, one low ratio and one high ratio.

This^ I did this once, and to this day I wonder if I had this bait or that bait to use. I also did it when I was less knowledgeable too, so that means I got rid of some good stuff. In my case it was only a walmart sized bag of various plastics, but I bet I have thought of a use for most of what was in that bag over the years. The ones that hurt the most are the riverside baits and BPS bubble fry style baits.
  11. For River smallies depending on depth, a bandit 100 and yum crawbug are far and away my top 2 baits. While I of course fished the crawbug on a slider, I have also fished it on a plain jig head because weeds were rarely an issue, scent helps with this bait. The bandit was also used on a spinning rod as well, I just cranked carefully to limit the number of baits lost. There is a reason I probably have 40 spares bought on clearance.
  12. Now that you mention it, with T Rigged plastics fishing vertical cover, most times by the time the bait sits on bottom and I close the bail, they have already grabbed it and it is game on. Only time I feel the bite is when I shake it in place, they very rarely hit it when reeling the bait in.
  13. The Norman Speed N looks like I need 5 or 6! The Rapala slim looks interesting too. The smaller Frittside may do it for me as well. Already bought 18 of the Booyah XCS 200 SB and they catch them just like the Xcalibur version:) and also have a couple of the Rapala V Blades. No fish on those yet.
  14. I have to go look now, I thought I have some SK 1.5 and 2.5 rattling SBs. They make it sound like they weren't made? If they are rare I may be able to let them go for the right price;)
  15. In this instance it was on a 1/16 ounce fireball jighead fishing on a river. So I had a lot going against me with the current where the fish were hitting the bait. Might be different on flat water too.
  16. I was fishing for smallies, and it was weird because it wasn't on slack line. It could be just how the smallies attacked the bait it put the hook in a bad position? Maybe I will give it a go again fishing for green bass sometime and see if I have different results.
  17. I would disagree on the wacky rigged worm. I have had a couple of deep hookings, not bad enough to injure fish thankfully, that I refuse to fish them. I wouldn't want that rig in the hands of a beginner as they will kill too many fish. Texas rigged plastics and spinnerbaits I like. The problem with spinnerbaits is they are a hero of zero bait where I think the T rigged plastic gets bit more often.
  18. Honestly I would go back to the basics which for me is a tube of 5" single tail grub on a slider head. Could be a texas rigged tube and a 5" grub on a jighead as well. Both baits can be fished multiple ways, and are great for bite detection as well. Having just had to rely on one to get bites on vaca, a spinnerbait is a great beginner bait, they either slam it or ignore it. Other than that a rage menace in place of the 5" grub has been pretty fool proof for me. Jerkbaits have been a learning curve for me, and I cracked it this past week, but all using the reel to impart the jerk pause action. It worked great last week so will stick with it for a while, surely wouldn't wish the learning curve on my worst enemy though;).
  19. I have something similar and am terrible at tuning baits. I tend to go too far the other way and worry I weaken the line tie with how many times I have to adjust it.
  20. Last time i went to a Walmart they hardly had anything. There was almost no line and baits were really picked over. Hope they ultimately don’t use this as an excuse to further inflate prices.

For a lot of years I used Hot Stuff mostly or Zap for RC Planes and some use in cars. The BSI stuff my dad was getting me from the shop he worked at imo was inferior to the brands I mentioned. It did work just not as well. For fishing the loctite gel works perfect, as it stays where you need it. It is overpriced for how much you get, but it fits a need.
  22. Looked through all 5 and the 2 in the picture I think are good. The single one is a third that is off. I will contact Ima through FB, but ultimately tune them. Just curious what they say about it. I hate tuning baits out of the box so I may be 5 and done wit( the brand.
  23. Good call. I quick unpacked them and found that the line tIes appear to be off center and angled in the way they were trying to run. It felt like they were trying to roll over on their right side. Would you agree? I appreciate the help figuring this out. Would hate to contact a manufacturer if there really isn’t an issue with the baits. Their website on my laptop came up as unsecure so I will try FB to potentially contact them. Or I could just write them off or try to tune them.
  24. I always have run with a small snap, next time I can try without. The others were so easy it was just frustrating. it was really windy all week, if they are more sensitive I could use them in calmer water. I have a 16 ft aluminum boat with an 80 lb trolling motor and needed 30 to 50 percent power to move into the wind. Boat control was a blast lol. So if heavy waves and retrieving at an angle to them could throw it off that could be a factor too. The provoke did something funky too once in a great while, maybe I was just pushing the limit of when jerks can be fished, especially finesse jerks.
  25. This last week I fished some new to me Jerkbaits along with my standard shadow rap. I got to try the Ima Fit (see other thread it wasn't a success), Jackall Rerange and 6th Sense Provoke. In the past I lost a lot fish when retrieving the slack line after the rod sweep. For some reason I did better with a spinning rod. This year my setup was my Lew's crush combo. What I started to do was reel fast pause for x time, reel fast, pause for x time, repeat. This worked super well for me while the jerkbait bite was on. So if this is totally the wrong way to do it, I will stick with it, because I don't believe I missed a fish all week on jerkbaits. The provoke was a nice surprise, every hit was like the fish was trying to kill the bait. I didn't expect jerkbait bites to be so aggressive. Even a walleye slammed it.
