  1. I just shipped a 96" tube (3" diameter) with 5 rods in it from VA to NY for $13 plus insurance ($12). I always print my own label at home through paypal. For some reason USPS is more lenient when printing your own label and doing it through paypal. I played around with the length and diameter and that was the magic maximum number i could get without getting denied. Can't go to 4" diameter without dropping the length down considerably and i couldn't go higher with the 96" length of the tube at 3' diameter. weight wasn't a big issue as far as price went.
  2. Same!! I am anxiously waiting for him to get out on the water so i can take him up on fishing with him again!! I learned more on one of his "bad" days than i did on any of my "good" days haha.
  3. I just got approval to bring some rods with me! is there any chance of meeting up to go fishing still? i can bring 4-5 rods and reels and whatever tackle would be needed. can't fit my boat on the plane unfortunately.. haha.
  4. After watching the action in the ridiculously long commercial they have on bass live, i don't really want to get one. The blade moves a bit but the jig doesn't. Maybe that is the winning ticket but it turned me off for some reason.. i want the whole bait to be erratic not just the blade i guess. Or maybe it is just that I had to listen to a 5 minute commercial like 10 times in the last 2 tournaments.. i don't know haha.
  5. I know I would be down to fish! I should be able to bring a few combos and some tackle. Would be helpful to know what techniques are catching so I can pack efficiently. I can also chip in for gas if needed.

    I am in!
  7. I will be there!! i would love to meet up and would definitely love to fish! i am flying in from NY though so i don't know how easy it will be to bring equipment.. we'll see. This is the last classic with all the big names (as of right now) at least for a while. My long time friends live in knoxville and graciously offered to host me so i am making the most of it!!
  8. I would say: 1. MLXF spinning rod for drop shot and any other finesse applications 2. MF spinning rod for weightless plastics and light jigs and such 3. MHF Casting for moving single hook baits, Heavier T-rigs, 4. HF for frogs and jigs Lengths are up to you although for versatility i would stay close to 7 foot. 7:1 range for the baitcasters for the same reason. I also live in upstate NY.
  9. If you clicked on details or something it told you what ones they were sending you. that is why i didn't get the package with the shirt. I didn't want the light spinnerbaits or any colorado blades
  10. I am pretty sure i heard them say top ten on sunday. could be wrong though.

Just read this whole thread and i would be in for the next round. I can tie jigs, pour some plastics and might be able to get my buddy to paint some baits too.
  13. I am in! Don't forget to Join the Tackle warehouse group for a chance to win some free stuff!
  14. My favorite spinning rod grip is on my cabelas arachnid and xml rods. They don't sell them anymore but this is close My second favorite is probably the VSS nut on bottom though
  15. Cabelas Arachnids are my current favorite rod and they are discontinued........ I also liked the XML spinning rods.. again discontinued. so while i love/loved cabela's brand rods, watch out they are going to be discontinued if not already due to the merger with bps.
  16. Really sorry about your dad man.. just prayed for you and will keep praying for you and your family. wish there was more we could say other than sorry..
  17. Thanks again @ww2farmer for taking me out! had a blast and learned a lot! Also came home with some new plastics and hooks to try which was awesome. Hopefully i can come up again before the season is over!
  18. I have 3 of the last model Aetos rods in the 7' MHF 6'8'' MHF and 6'6'' MF and i LOVE them. They balance really well and have great sensitivity. I would say they are very slightly on the stiff side of their ratings but i can't really compare to your rods. I would buy the 7'MHF with confidence though. I think it performs above its cost.
  19. Yeah it is a paper tournament. Still not sure of the specifics but i think its based on length. Gotta ask my friend who invited me.
  20. What has been working well there? I am fishing Honeoye Sunday in my first tournament as a co-angler
  21. Cabela's XML. I just got the 6'3'' MXF and I love it. Lots of length and action options too. Just the guides and handle are worth the money to me, but the blank performs above its price significantly too. https://www.cabelas.com/product/CABELAS-XML-SPINNING-ROD/2601275.uts?slotId=0
  22. Yeah I have had brand new cavitrons sitting in the box waiting to be used. they are getting rigged for sure this year.
  23. After having some moderate success with prop baits last season I am excited to try my new sprinker frog and whopper ploppers. I know the WP's will work because I watched a guy fishing right behind me catching fish I was missing.. and I like the sprinker for the weedless nature when I am in pads and grass.. at least that is my hope for this season.
  24. What is the code for that? i don't see it.
