Are you a frugal fisherman?
Oh yeah. Field and Stream and DSG both lose money whenever I walk out the door. when they were doing buy 5 get 5 and were clearancing stuff I used, I cleared the rack. I also never pay more than like 60% of retail on rods and reels. I have 23 combos in the rotation now.. so while I save a lot of money this way I have also spent a lot. I do backing on all my reels and use braid as a mainline for all but a couple combos which saves a lot compared to using flouro and having to respool all the time. I also service my own baitcasters and pour my own drop shot weights and tube jig heads as I lose them alllllll the time. starting to tie my own jigs and I am even dabbling in pouring my own soft plastics but that is mostly for fun..

Agreed, If they want a broken rod back they should pay for the shipping. Or they could refund you and let you keep the broken rod. Definitely would go up the ladder on that one.

Cabela's XML vs Arachnid
I was just checking the bargain cave on cabela's website and did a double take at the xml spinning rods. They look exactly like the arachnid spinning rod i have which is currently my favorite spinning rod. I was heartbroken when i found out they were discontinued and i missed my chance to get another. Are these "new" xml spinning rods the same? or close? https://www.cabelas.com/product/bargain-cave/fishing/rods/pc/105591780/c/105740280/sc/105742080/cabelas-xml-spinning-rod/2601275.uts?slotId=2

What are the benefits of using braid with a fluoro leader?
Like the others have said, I use braid as mainline for all spinning set ups. The benefits for me on drop shot are also the manageability but more importantly, sensitivity. because the line isn't slack and braid has no stretch you get the full feel of the bait and your limiting factor becomes your rod for sensitivity.

If you don't care about the color, they have the pink ones in the 25 and 30 sizes

Prop Baits
I fished side by side with someone else using a whopper plopper while I was using these. I was catching them in places he wasn't and vice versa. you can't have too many options I got that color for $3 a piece so I bought them all haha. my friend custom paints so I may have him help me out there

What to buy for Nephew? He Loves Big Swimbaits.
I am not really big into swimbaits yet. I am just starting to throw 6"-8" baits. I have however heard really good things about the real prey soft baits. They have great action and are made from silicone so they are a lot more durable than hudds. I don't have any personal experience but that is what I thought of when I read this thread.

Ike's live in the Classic Bracket
I literally laughed out loud right in my cubicle at work. couldn't believe he said that lol. unfortunately I didn't see mercer's reaction cuz my connection crapped out right after feider's comment.

Ike's live in the Classic Bracket
Dude... Totally agree.. haha

Ike's live in the Classic Bracket
Oh I'm sure it's nothing new, I guess I am just surprised Bassmaster doesn't do anything about it.

Ike's live in the Classic Bracket
I have been watching the classic bracket on bass live (great format btw, lotta fun to watch) and I notice ike dropping a few F-bombs and other swear words.. nobody from the bassmaster crew seemed to care and nothing was really said about it. Does anyone know if they try to at least encourage clean language on live? any penalty for dropping F-Bombs on live?

gearing for kayak
Great suggestions here. The only thing I would add is that I also wear a fishing vest and pack plastics in some pockets along with my tools, megastrike, and terminal tackle box. I fish tubes like 70% of the time and drop shot and topwater make up most of the other time. so my terminal tackle box can be pretty small. ^^ Bingo

Lets talk tube set ups
6'3'' MXF Cabela's arachnid, stradic Ci4+ 2500 with 10# braid to a 6lb invisX leader. This quickly became my favorite rod this year and I went to look for more and they were discontinued and sold out... of course. I mainly fish smaller rivers with 2.5-2.75 inch tubes on a homemade 1/8 oz tube jig. If anyone has any Cabelas arachnid spinning rods I would love to try some of the longer ones as well!!

Sinko or saynko how do you say it?
I pronounce it "gary". As in "what are you using? a Gary?" Haha But if I say the real name I pronounce it exactly how its spelled. Sen-Ko

Cabelas arachanid rod
Just got the 6'3'' MXF spinning shipped to me and I am VERY impressed with the balance and weight. I will be fishing it Wednesday myself and anticipate it to perform very well.

Anyone Still Using Berkley Havoc Baits?
The only ones I use are the pit boss and the Money Maker. The money maker is an AWESOME drop shot bait when rigged wacky. I picked up a bunch of em when they went on sale at TW for a dollar a pack. I really hope they don't discontinue them

I don't know where you are seeing that. Mine says "Purchas any 4 jars/bags of Berkley Powerbait at Dicks sporting goods or field and stream" I looked at the rebate form and it doesn't say anything like that there either..
