  1. I've got a couple backpacks in mind, but I'm looking for something to hold roughly 2 3700s, 20 or 30 bags of plastic and teo smaller plano boxes, one for terminal and one for spinnerbaits. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to see them
  2. I have 20lb braid on my shimano core, with a rod that is meant to load with 1/4 of an oz and I can chuck a rooster tail inline what feels like a mile. I'd fownsize the braid, and get into a medium or medium light rod.
  3. If you're spooling with braid, the 70, if you're spooling with flouro, or mono in less than 15, the 70. If you are using the reel for larger diameter lines you may run into issues with not having enough line and have to respool frequently
  4. I exclusively use Tatsu for spooling reels, with that said I use pline for leaders because I honestly don't believe over 12 to 24 inches it makes that much of a difference in sensitivity, or managability.
  5. Welcome, just moved to Ga myself. Norcross area.
  6. It's a nice way to save money, but personally I prefer 1 rod to 1 reel so I don't spend time rethreading a rod. I also use different types of line for different things, and to go to deeper debths. In a kayak I feel it's even more of a time saver due to more limited space and mobility.
  7. I back lash once every four or five outings usually as a result of me trying to throw something weightless against the wind. I usually stop it before it gets too bad.
  8. I'm new to the area as well and just moved to Georgia about a month ago, and live within 12 miles of stone mountian state park. Send me a message if you want maybe we can bang the bank together some time.
  9. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I forgot to track the topic. Hitting the bank, I had a small boat but I sold it for the move down here so it might be awhile before I get myself back into the water. I see you're from an area that I work in on a regular basis.
  10. I refuse to fish anything under 7 foot personally, and fish up to 7'6" regularly and 7'10" in some cases. It's all personal preference, and if you're willing to spend the time to get used to it. Four inches isn't all that much difference though honestly. It might be harder to adjust if you were coming from 6'0" to 6'6" range.
  11. I was extremely excited for the s glass sc, I'lldefinitely be getting one myself.
  12. At that price point I very strongly suggest giving Mike from Delaware Valley Tackle a phone call, I'm currently in the works of replacing two of the three rods you listed with rods from DVT.
  13. The rod is 70 percent of your cast as far as equiptment. Maximize distance by using a rod well suited for your lure weight. The other 30 percent is the reel, learning to thumb the spool of a reel to reduce the tension knob and number of breaks will help, and better line/reels will help.
  14. I've never used a reel that compares to the core at all, including the met, ald, antares, steez etc.
  15. Just moved down to Nocross GA. Not too fimiliar with the area, if anyone would like to hookup, or has any idea where some nice ponds are they'd like to let me know about I'd appreciate it, if not I'll be spending my time on google earth. Cheers.
  16. Keitech, rage, biospawn. In that order
  17. I prefer the Shimano Core to every reel listed above.
  18. Hit, fish on, slammed it if the bite is aggressive.
  19. If I had to only fish one line for the rest of my life it would be braid, and I would tie on leaders as nessicary
  20. Tackle, storage, and attire south of 1k a year. I refuse to admit, accept, or disclose my rod amount even after reselling my older stuff that usually doesn't age more than three years.
  21. You think that lands fish, you should see a chatterbait with a keitech paddle tail on it
