  1. I havent used them, but a friend of mine has, and I havent heard of any issues (from him). Also, this:
  2. Would you say Shimano's drag grease and Bantam Oil is a safe bet? seems like I can get them together for $14 on the big auction site.
  3. I haven't used them, going off of reviews. what do you recommend? @Delaware Valley Tackle
  4. I have overpaid there many a time, I think we're even now.
  5. I am familiar with the insides of reels. I may buy some grease and oil since I ran out last season. Thinking about Reel Butter and Hot Sauce.
  6. That's exactly what I'm doing So far, no problems other than sub-optimal casting (like 10 feet behind my Curado e7). I'm a bit new to upgrading parts/super tuning so that's why I'm asking Not sure if this actually has SF, But there is a sticker on the spool reading "Super Free"...
  7. Went fishing with it today, its a truly amazing reel for being so old. It feels as smooth as a 2016 model reel in the hand.
  8. What is the best performing reel you guys have used? Cheap or Expensive, old or new. Mine would have to be the Curado 200e7 (Second would be the Chronarch 100A), and for spinning, Stradic 1000FJ.
  9. So I got a (appears to be new) Bantam Chronarch 100 for $15... Not really sure where to start here... maybe bearings? The freespool time is like 3 seconds, after all I dont think its been used/broken in. Handle seems a little off compared to my other reels, I like swept & drilled handles. Any replacements for those? Looking for some ideas
  10. @Bantam1 Can you identify this model? having trouble finding the exact model number, gear ratio, etc. (Also getting conflicting stories, I've heard the 100A does not have a Super Free spool, but has a nut cap. Mine has a nut cap and a "Super Free" sticker on the spool...)
  11. You dont by any chance know the exact model to you?
  12. Salvation Army needs to rethink their pricing...
  13. Went to the thrift store today expecting to find the usual Shakespear Spincast from 1990, but came across this, only $15! Mint condition, buttery smooth, I honestly dont think it has even been spooled! Preserved just for me What have you guys found at thrift stores/yard sales?
  14. Haha, can testify, it gives you a jolt!
  15. thanks for the heads up! o.O
  16. Really? Your Veritas's broke? my particular one seems pretty sturdy... how did it break?
  17. Well not only that but I kinda need my all-around reel working good again, preferably sooner than later. xD
  18. Is TackleTrap a good place to purchase the gears? Seems that Shimano doesn't have the 7.0:1 Key Washers in stock needed for the swap from 6.3:1 to 7.0:1 in my Citica E. Also, @Delaware Valley Tackle would you be able to supply the parts needed for the gear swap? (pinion, main, key washer, and carbontex drag)
  19. Go to a store and feel a Abu Garcia Veritas, I own one and it performs good so far (have had it for 3 months) 0 issues and it's very sensitive!
  20. What brand braid are you using? I had some Iron Athlete braid from TW (random cheap braid) that snapped on the cast a LOT. It would snap a couple inches above the knot (improved clinch).
  21. Are they new? or like new? Interested in the 6.5:1 but I would need to wait for payday.
