  1. My grandfather was a GM exec, and I currently drive a Ford
  2. Over a year ago now, I want no business with Lews for now on
  3. I don't know... I've had absolutely terrible outcomes from buying used reels, they seem to be money pits. I bought my Curado I new and couldn't be happier, I don't think I'm going to buy any used reels anymore. a TD-Z would be an exception though.
  4. How much water are we talking, and is it affecting anything else? I don't have my reel with me atm, so I'm trying to find a picture of the slot. Wondering if it can be plugged with something.
  5. Ok - so what are the options here. I'm trying to get an idea on if I need to order something before it happens to me. (I'm going to be using my reel in the rain a lot). Ceramic bearings, corrosion resistant bearings, aftermarket bearings, no bearings? Does anyone have a definitive answer as to how the bearing is going bad?
  6. Tatula all day every day.
  7. Take the spool out (with the x-ship bearing installed) and see if the sound still happens.
  8. I like my reels to last over a season before they get grindy (Seems to be the status quo with Graphite/Carbon reels) I still see 10+ year old Curados fishing good as new, cant say the same for Graphite reels.
  9. Too bad I didn't get this guy when my Speed Spool needed a new spool... :/ $20, 5 phone calls, 10 emails, and a year later the spool still hasn't showed up. Maybe I called a different Lews.
  10. Oh no... I'm really paranoid now. I just got back from fishing in the rain with mine :I
  11. Just posted this on another thread, but the Fuego CT is a great reel (even compared to $160 Curados). It can be found any day of the week on the auction site for under $80 shipped! Its basically a Tatula CT without T-Wing.
  12. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I tried one out and it appears to be as premium as my Curado I.
  13. Daiwa Fuego CT can be found for $80 on the auction site any day of the week. IMO best reel for the money. (Its basically a Daiwa Tatula CT without T-Wing) @alpaca
  14. Whats with that hook holder? looks like you added it? I have a couple rods w/o hook holders
  15. Man I want one of those. Thanks for the heads up!
  16. Ouch, that really hurts my eyes lol. Thanks for sharing nonetheless!
  17. I didnt realize this would become so heated... When you guys get to use the PQ2, please let me know how it performs! Are you talkin' about this type of brick-and-mortar?
  18. Has anyone checked out the new BPS Pro Qualifier 2? I know the original was a hit with the under-100 market. How is this one? Quality wise, better or worse? How does it compare to other reels at the same price point?
  19. Honestly I'd just buy a pyrex baking pan... You probably already have one haha
  20. 4G wireless signals dont travel through water, and this thread is a little old so I'm almost sure the battery is dead. And I also did hear a story of one being underwater (exact same story as this) for a month with no problems... Should be fine GoPros cant communicate w/ a phone underwater either, I've tried
  21. is there a story behind your signature? lol Haha I'm pretty much the same way, a broke high school student. my arsenal consists of a Curado I 6.3 on a Veritas 1.0 7' Med (my best setup yet) and a Shimano Catana on a Ugly Stik GX2 6' I'm still using Danielson line from BPS, its only $3 for 500 yards of 15# mono! I have a broken bps reel somewhere too, I think we all do. I intend on getting a TD-Z on a Dobyns Fury soon. If I can come up with the money for it...
  22. Shimano! Heck yeah!
  23. Curado 200i 6.3:1 and Abu Garcia Veritas 7' Medium Fast. It'll be able to throw a great variety of baits, plus its sensitive! (About $290)
  24. How on earth... Not going to question it. Just make sure the drive shaft isnt stripped, if it isnt, just get the new parts like mentioned.
  25. "Only in Santa Cruz!" haha Haha! Those danged ospreys had it coming!
