Cool, I bet it's crazy being able to catch redfish and bass (best freshwater and saltwater gamefish in my opinion) in the same spot. Beautiful area too.

This evening I went fishing at a local park pond, it's not the usual park pond it's pretty rural. But I haven't been there for a couple months, and it was littered with a ton of tangled line and torn soft plastics. I have never seen that much litter from just fishermen. I have seen trash stations strictly for tangled line and torn plastics in an FLW magazine, and thought about putting one up by the boat ramp. I have a pretty good idea on how to make it using a five gallon bucket, some stakes, and a sign, but I do have a few questions about it before I do it. Will it work? Can I get in trouble? (If I get it up before anybody sees me how can I, right?) What should the sign hanging above it say? Have you seen or used one? How would you make one if you were so inclined? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

My brother fly fishes 95% of the time we go fishing, and everytime we go I ask him "What are you using today?" He always just looks at me and says "bass bug" ( which is a small popper made of deer hair or cork) It can literally be 12 degrees out and he' using a bass bug. Or I'll make an order to TW show him all the awesome stuff and he just says "Expensive ain't it?" or "I bet I catch more fish with this here bass bug (I look up and he's holding up a green 1.5" long deer hair bug) than that giant rat (my new Spro rat). I just hope he's not right with that last one.

If your friends can't come with you, mention the friend's name they like the most. You could also see if they ever have a car by the road for sale, a garage sale (if they do buy a bunch of stuff), or if they are outside working in the yard you could offer help then. Generally yes. For example I bought a soft plast swimbait from Castaic for like $15, it isn't great I should have just spent the extra to get a Hudd. But on the flip side you can buy a $50 lure and it be trash. I would feel safe dropping a dime on any Japanese domestic lure, they are always focused on craftsmanship.

The red doesn't bleed in drips, you might get a tad on your fingers when you put tension on it to spool your reel but it has never "dripped" red. Maybe they weren't careful and cut their finger on their line which made the line look as if it were really bleeding, which would be weird.

If I go minimalistic I take three rods with me when I fish from my kayak, 1. finesse spinning 2. medium casting 3. heavy casting. Two lures per rod (including the one tied on). I have all my tackle stored in an orderly fashion so I can take a handful of lures and go. Out of the three I always have a weedless slow moving lure (jig or Texas riggged soft plastic), a reaction lure (frog, crankbait, or chatterbait), and a kicker fish lure (big swimbait or big topwater). So pretty much whatever pattern the fish are in, I have something that can at least pass. I always already have a good idea of what the fish are doing, because I live really close the lake I fish 90% of the time. But in the heat of the summer or if I'm going on a long trip I put a milk crate full of plano boxes in the back of my yak.

Anyone know what Big Hammer jig head/hook size to use with their 4" swimbait? I'm thinking the 1/4oz. with the 2/0 light wire hook, but I'm not sure.

Installs are the best, harder work but good $money$. And they only last a day or two. Mowing great too because it's easy and consistent, once you mow a particular yard a few times you can get it done quick and easy. I think you'll enjoy it. Besides it keeps you outside, not stuck inside all day.

Are you cutting grass, or plant installations?
