  1. I just bring the lure that's tied on, and an extra one or two in my pocket. If I'm using plastics I just put a bag in my pocket. 9 times out of 10 I already know the conditions the lake has, so I can usually guess what will work. I used to take everything with me I could carry, but I found I never used more than two or three lures a trip. It also forces you to use what you bring, and make it work.
  2. Carrot Stix. Best rods ever, probably they most underrated too. I'll never buy a different brand. Super light and sensitive rods. I have three and could not be happier. If orange isn't your color get a green one.
  3. Bananas aren't the only thing that's green at Wal-Mart.
  4. You'd be surprised. The only reason I would ever consider it would be for promoting a business.
  5. Camo duct tape. Wrap it tight, and use a lighter along the edges to really lock it on there.
  6. I'm with you. Been avoiding jumping on the social media band wagon. I don't know how much longer that will last.
  7. I think it's like a restraunt.
  8. How do you keep the pages from getting wet?
  9. Hudd Bugs.
  10. Just kidding hope you land a monster!
  11. Seriously the one piece is way better. Look at all the higher end (more expensive) rod companies. You'll have a hard time finding a 2 piece. Unless it's specifically for travel.
  12. Bass Bug Fishing by William "Tap" Tapply. It's a great intro to fly fishing for bass.
  13. I fish a lake similar to that (minus the trout and dropoffs). Frogs/jigs in weeds and brushpiles. Trout and bluegill swimbaits along the weedlines. Dragging a Sick Fish on the weeds and letting it settle in the breaks/holes is another thing that works great.
  14. One piece rod. Then if you break it you have a two piece. Win-Win
  15. Mini Bic lighter. Super easy to carry. And if you ever end up in a survival situation you can always switch lures.
  16. Couldn't agree more. It's really gonna show people how to incorrectly land fish. Beside the point how many rods will break, and thumbs get smoked by trebles?
  17. Sick Fish with rigged on a weighted screw lock hook. Drag it along the top and let it sink/settle into the holes and breaks in the cover.
  18. Spike-it.com should have what you're looking for.
  19. Try a Rapala knot.
  20. Use a 3" or 4" Berkely Gulp shrimp on a red jig head. New Penny is the best color, I used to smoke redfish and trout on that lure. Ugly stick is the best choice for a saltwater rod. Enjoy the salt air.
  21. I have an Ascend D10 (sot) it's super stable I stand up %90 of the time I'm in it. It's only like $300 at BPS. It doesn't track well but, I use it like a paddle board most of the time anyway, so who cares.
