  1. Sounds like a balance thing. See if anything is missing from the parts that spin.
  2. My only goal is to catch a bigger bass than my brother. He got me last year, ain't gonna happen again.
  3. Medium Heavy Carrot Stix. Carrot Stix are only $100. They are so sensitive, but still have plenty of backbone.
  4. I prefer the term Yaker. But to answer the question you could attach a trolling motor or do what I do, only fish lakes.
  5. Sick Fish bream color. Rig it on a weighted swimbait hook.
  6. I only use three knots. Blood knot to connect lines to leaders. The clinch knot for line to lures. The other knot is the Rapala knot, for walking baits or lures with intense side to side action. YouTube any knots you need to learn. Always remember the simpler the better.
  7. All the one-liners I thought of had more than one line. One time a guy got caught with something illegal in his pocket and proceeded to tell the policeman "These aren't my pants." Or the classic " I don't know how that could have gotten there."
  8. Larry Dahlberg is the best. He pushes Jack Links a little, but he talks about lures he has made way more than stuff at BPS. He cares less about brand name stuff than just about anyone. And he goes for some of the coolest fish nobody has ever heard of.
  9. 9" Big Hammer Sledge Hammer.
  10. The Pinnacle Matrix 7.0:1 is a pretty good deal. It's $50 at Dick's Sporting Goods. I used it all last year. It's O.K. but if I could redo it I would have just spent the extra to get a Lew's. With reels you really get what you pay for.
  11. Frogs and Sick Fish. Black and green frogs. And disco shad Sick Fish.
  12. That's flippin' awesome. Gonna try that this year.
  13. No seriously when people mishandle bass that irks me to no end.
  14. Wow, very impressive.
  15. Thanks guys probably gonna go with Big Game. By the way if your'e on the fence about the Spro rat get it the action is absolutely crazy. Morning Dawn is awesome.
  16. Get a couple frogs, a couple jigs and a Sick fish or two. Remember it's not what you have, it's what you know. Nothing wrong with being a baller on a budget.
  17. The wierd thing was it wasn't the knot. There was like 40 feet of line still on it.
  18. Oh, and what pound line do you suggest?
  19. Check out this video:
  20. So finally nice day rolls by, and I decide to do a little bank fishing. It's like 75 degrees with a slight chop on the water. Perfect day for my brand new Spro rat. First cast SNAP! goes the 50lb Power Pro. See you later Mr. Rat. Luckily the breeze brought it close enough to snag with a pincone I tied on (I must have looked like the Banjo Minnow guy). Anyway, I have an Abu Garcia 5600 Ambassadeur SX on a 7'6" Extra Heavy Carrot Stix. Should I go for heavier braid or heavy mono? What are your suggestions?
  21. I always use Tic Tacs to break the ice.
  22. A 7' medium light to medium heavy Carrot Stix Wild Wild only $99.99 on Tackle Warehouse. I have the medium light. I can use it for everything; jigs, small/medium swimbaits, frogs, spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, topwaters. You name it. Pair it with a 7.1:1 reel (preferably a Lew's) and some 30-50lb. Power Pro. Great combo.
  23. What about a big innertube and a pair of flippers. It's what fly fishermen use.
