  1. By the way glad you and your family are O.K.

Suprisingly everybody's answer was similar. Do you have any clever alternative names for colors? For example calling chart./black back Roasted Peep.
  4. Watch the TacticallBassin' video on the River2Sea Spittin' Wa or S-Waver. They boat flip like crazy.
  5. Glad to hear they are O.K.
  6. Reminds me of fishing in a 2 man kayak with my brother. Good times.

I'm with you using different names for the colors.
  8. Lews for reels, and I know I'm gonna be alone here but Carrot Stix for rods.
  9. I used to fish a pier in Florida, that was like a 1/2 mile long (we would always fish at the end). As we walked down people would always throw sailcats on the ground to die, because in their illogically logical minds they would catch less cats and more "gamefish". If they were still alive I would usually throw them back, depending on the size/how crazy looking they dude fishing was.

Putting feathers on lipless cranks is awesome, it gives it completely different swimming action. I like using marabou, it gives it a more "fluid" action.
  11. Fish dip made out of freshly smoked Spainish Mackeral with hot suce and crackers is pretty awesome
  12. Wow. That has really come a long way. You should be proud of that.
  13. I like having hard copies too and would like to find a magazine subscription, but I just don't like these magazines that focus on tourneys or selling products. Staring at the computer too long hurts my eyes.
  14. It depends on what you want to do. Makelure.com is Larry Dahlberg's website. It has great videos and a forum devoted to lure making. Their products are geared more toward 100% do it yourself. Which gives you way more creativity. Jannsnetcraft.com (probably the best for beginners because they have a little bit of everything). They have a wide variety of stuff from spinners/buzzbaits, wooden crankbait, and soft plastics. The are a little salty, but it's the best place to get things like wire, hook hangers, and thing of that nature. Bass tackle molds and do-it molds are the best when it comes to aluminum cnc machined molds. Hobby Lobby is where I get all my paint, glue and epoxy. They always have printable 40% off coupons on their website, which makes buying an airbrush a little easier. Hope this helps.
  15. WOW lol...Biggest nerd fest I have ever witnessed.
  16. Simple colors, like green pumpkin, junebug, and watermelon, lack the detail a larger surfaced lure like a crankbait needs. If the whole lure is painted in a solid color with little to no contrast it gives the false impression that the lure was made on the cheap. Even though those colors would work, the consumer would think it was "too bland". Another reason is hardbaits immitate different forage than soft plastics. Hard plastics almost exlusivley simulate baitfish of some kind or another, which have more complex color patterns (with the exception of crawfish which does give simpler color schemes). Soft plastics* that use monotones are usually imitating worms, crawfish, and creatures, which in nature are comprised of bland color patterns. So it's kind of self defeating to have a lure that moves like a fish but has the color scheme of a bug. *swimbaits not included

Little bit of a delayed response but, what is "carp juice"?
  18. I'm looking for a new magazine subsciption. My subscription to Bass Magazine (FLW) just expired. I was happy with it for a while but it seems like they are talking about tournaments and the pros way too much for my taste. I like the cool tips and tricks rather than 8 pages of what won the last tournament. What bass magazine should I go with next?
  19. I hate hypothetical questions as much as the next guy but... If you were to start a lure company what handful of crankbait colors (5-7) would you choose for your line-up? Here is mine 1.Firetiger 2.Shad 3.Red/Black Crawdad 4.Trout (More of a generic baitfish pattern than a traditional trout color scheme.) 5.Chart. with black back
  20. Too bad they look pretty sweet. There are a few on Ebay for $80, but I don't know about buying a discontinued reel on Ebay.
  21. I don't mean the Victory or Victory II. Google "Wright & McGill Victory Magnum Casting Reel".

That's why you mash down the barbs.
  23. If it's for fishing, I think so too. I would get an extra pair for non-fishig activities so you don't scratch up your good pair.
  24. C'mon guys they don't live in schools, they go home after class.
  25. Seriously, the most versitile lure for Inshore Saltwater Gamefish is the 3-4" Berkely Gulp! New Penny Shrimp on a red or chartruse jig head, that's the only artificial lure you really "need". If you want to use live bait stay away from frozen, it's probably more expensive and kind junky. Get fresh shrimp from one of those roadside places and tell them you want to use it for bait. Choose one guy to buy your bait from and only go to him, eventually he will start giving a free stuff or a little extra, plus you'll probably end up being friends. The only guy I got my shrimp from was a guy selling it from a trailer named "Pee-Wee", he was awesome and always kept us posted on the goings on of the area.
