  1. Thats true. In fifteen years the rods will probably be so outdated anyway.
  2. Does micro guides make a difference? Is the Avid X better than the original? Its strange how the two rods are the same price yet have different warranty lengths.
  3. Whatever rod I get it has to be made in the USA owned by Americans. The St. Croix Avid fits these criteria. I wish it was lifetime warranty, other than that it looks perfect.
  4. Great article. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2014/04/17/is-college-for-everyone-10-alternatives-to-the-traditional-4-year-college/
  5. At this point I am leaning towards the Avid X.
  6. I do like the lifetime warranty on the LTB's instead of the 15 year (which is still a long time) on the Avids.
  7. Do you ike the LTB better than the Avids?
  8. Thanks. Yes it is whippy.
  9. I am looking for something that can do a lot that my other rod could not do. Have you been out on the water lately? What are they biting? I have fished Martin with a little luck, but could be doing better.
  10. Nearly had to go to the ER.
  11. Does anyone have any other rod suggestions for around that price? Do the brands have just as good customer service? FishWhacker, do you prefer those brands above the St. Croix's?
  12. Sorry. I meant new set up.
  13. I currently have a Duckett Micro Magic 7' medium, fast rod with a Curado 200 I 6:3:1. What size rod, taper, speed, etc. would be the most advantageous for a new set up?
  14. Anyone have the Avid X? How does it compare with the original Avid or Rage?
  15. I didn't know what to do when I couldn't get on!
  16. Why did you get rid of your Avids?
  17. Do yo have the Avid X or the Avid? Is the regular Avid supposed to have micro guides?
  18. I will definitely be sending him my reels this fall for maintenance.
  19. Which one do you prefer? The Avid?
  20. Same here.
  21. Shout out to Mike at DVT. Mike helped me fix my rod when the company's warranty department wouldn't. It makes times where things are breaking much easier when a company has helpful service. Thanks again DVT.
  22. That is a great deal. I prefer split grips too, or at least that is what I am used to. Do you prefer cork or neoprene?
  23. How short is it. I like a longer handle too, but with my Duckett after setting the hook with soft plastics a lot it starts hurting my ribs.
  24. The tip guide was chipped on my rod, and I got the warranty to cover it and got a new tip sent to me. This wouldn't get to you by tomorrow though.
  25. Don't know. It is working fine right now.
