  1. Can't go wrong with the Dobyns. I have a Fury 734C for swim jigs, jigs, and worms.
  2. Got to get out on the water yesterday and give my new crankbait rod a workout. Tied a 6XD on my new *** Fate Chrome 7'3" MH Cranking rod. Love the rod. Looks and feels great. Light and balanced well. Only complaint is dang this thing feels like a limp noodle when casting. It's rated up to 1 1/2oz so I'm not pushing it. Is this a normal feeling with these glass/graphite rods?? It threw my smaller cranks around great. Almost tempted to get the 7'9" H for my bigger cranks.
  3. Yeah, takes a bit from CA to PA. Even when I ordered them right from Dobyns themselves or Tacklewarehouse. Coast to coast problems....lol. Worth the wait though.
  4. Get the Bass Pro Stik-O worms. They can be bought in bulk packs and work just as good as Senkos in my opinion. Plus they are cheaper.
  5. Yes sir. The one three 7'3" heavy will work fine. One three makes really nice rods. I have a Fate chrome and a Defy Black. For the price they are awesome rods. Light and sensitive. Don't over look the Dobyns Fury line either. The 735C is right what your looking for. I also have the 765Flip and that would work too.
  6. My finesse rod is a 7ft M Duckett Ghost. Love it. Crazy light and sensitive. Didn't break the bank either.
  7. I have a crap load of 2.5's but I never throw them! The 1.5's are so productive for me it's hard to use anything else. I Catch anything from bluegills to muskies on them....lol.
  8. Ordered the Dobyns Fury FR734C. Should be here next week. Can't wait to put it through the paces.
  9. Ended up ordering a One Three Fate Chrome 7'3" MH/M cranking rod. Just came yesterday. Haven't used it yet but it's really, really light weight. Feels really good. Looks great too. We'll see how she fishes.
  10. Yes I have. The TCS rods are def nice. Not knocking them at all. For price and what you get, I like the Fury alot better. Won't be wrong with either.
  11. Fury hands down. I have 2 already and another on the way.
  12. I have a ton of them. Booyah, River2Sea, Strike King, and Spro. Hands down Spro is my favorite and I always have one tied on. Second would prob be the Booyah.
  13. That's all I use. 50 and 65lb. Never had any issues with launching frogs and anything else on it.
  14. I might have to grab the 7'10". We'll see.
  15. Thanks man. I appreciate your help and opinion. I was at Wal-Mart last night and they had the Tour KVD 7'4"MH and the 7'10"MH on clearance for $75. Didn't pull the trigger though.
  16. I'm just gonna try my 765 Flip cause it's a MH/F which is the lightest of my big rods. Just goofing around today just to see what it does. I know there will be sacrifices but I don't wanna break it the first time out with it....lol. Half the people say stay within the lure weight recommendations, and half that say ignore it. I just saw the Fate Chrome Crankbait rod as well. Might have to look into that as an option. Not real familiar with the Fate Chrome rods. Another thing that takes a few out of the mix is a full cork handle. Not a fan of them. I like split grips.
  17. Isn't that only rated up to 1oz though? Wasn't sure that it would handle the 1oz 6XD. I'm gonna trying throwing my 6XD on my Dobyns Fury FR765flip and see how it does.
  18. Thanks for the suggestions. Also open to other rod suggestions. Wanna keep it under $100 as it's not something I do all the time.
  19. I'm about ready to purchase a rod dedicated to my deep cranks. 5xd's and 6xd's. Hoping to take advantage of the Memorial Day sales. Got two that I'm looking at right now. A Duckett Ghost 7'6" MH cranking rod and a Abu Garcia 7'6" MH Vertias 2.0 Winch. Opinions? Thanks.
  20. You could always get a Bass Pro Shop tourney special or Bass Pro Shop graphite series rod. I have a few of them and they worked great till I upgraded my rods.
  21. I've thrown them on it before and have done alright. Just felt like a little overkill to me. I'll have try it again and see.
