The 2015 Whitney Stakes(147 running) @ Saratoga this Saturday is a big race for SAR, here is the field and even though this is not a race for 3yos these horses in the past were raced as a 3yo in triple crown races 1)..Honor Code 2)..Tonalist<-----belmont winner last year 3)..Noble Bird 4)..Liam's Map 5)..Moreno 6)..V.E. Day 7)..Lea 8)..Coach Inge<----------SCR 9)..Wicked Strong 10).Normandy Invasion

not confirmed, but stated AMERCIAN PHAROAH will run in the Travers end of AUG. the Travers is considered to b the "Late summer KD".

AMERCIAN PHAROAH wins at 1/9 but what a win! could have won by 12 -15 lghs. but eased at the 16th pole. Horse "won for fun" pays $2.10 or so. Next??? SAR race track has boosted the purse money to 1.6mil in the travers luring AP to race at the end of AUG. But PARX (pha) may add to the PENN derby in sept. to have AP run there.

MADEFROMLUCKY wins the WVa. derby and pays $7.20. TEXAS RED wins the jim dandy and pays $5.70 AMERCIAN PHAROAH is 1/5 in the ML.

OBTW Also to day is the JIM DANDY @ SAR. a 4 horse field FROSTED FRAMENTO TEXAS RED<--was a one time fav to win the K derby & JAPAN. . UPSTART was entered in this race but will run in the haskel on sun.

so i will cut the steak 12oz and then i trim 2oz of fat and gristle off the steak. i cut it 12oz but one gets a 10oz steak. but it was cut 12 oz. but if i cut it 12oz w/ no trim then someone will complain there is too much fat and gristle! now i cut it 14oz trim the fat etc... not the house losses money!!! just funnin with ya . now on a filet mignon steak, basicly no fat or trim and its common to cut them to go 1/2 oz to 3/4 either side of weight.

well sometimes commercial ordering of ribs could be the weight. one can order 1 3/4 lbs "down" or 1 3/4 lb "up". so the lighter ones might be a few bones less. i never counted the bones as i generally used them on buffets. there was always those last 3 bones on one side that were equal to the 2 larger bones. some places may use these 3 bone portion as a "Riblets" as a appt. also that might be the restaurants. size to sell BBQ ribs. i use to clean Domestic lamb racks. generally there are only 8 bones to these racks but sometimes the meat cutter gets to close to the loin end and i got 9 bones. really didnt make a difference.

two races today GR 1. the Mother Goose at Bel. #2 INCLUDE BETTY runs in this race. Finished 2nd in the Black Eyed Susan(view "on to the Preakness") the 2nd race is the Gold Cup @ Santa Anita. in this race #6 HOPPERTUNITY runs. interesting note..he was scratched in the 2014 Kentucky derby. just raced in the Stephen Foster@ CD and finished 3rd. 7/2 in the morning line.

update.. seems my fishing days are done. being a chef and using my right hand for chef things..well arthritis set in. after not casting for all those years and then casting my arthritis flared up so bad i could not use my hand for a week. i need to use my hand as my wife is disabled and i do housely things. cant take the chance again of another flare up. so see you all over at "everything else board"
