We all know that there are days when even the greatest bass fisherman can't buy a bite with there usual techniques. So, what's your favorite bait to fall back on when the going gets tough?

So my lakehouse is in Palo Gaucho, and from what I've seen from the topo maps (i.e. Hook n' Line), there's not many large depth changes or humps. From what I've learned this summer, bass collect on main lake points and humps when it gets hot. Yet people still fish there frequently. I don't know quite what to look for in Paulo Gaucho in not only the summer, but in any of the other seasons as well. Has anyone fished there frequently or know places for me to look for when I'm there?

Question, what's a streamer fly? And awesome, so do you ever fish with live bait like minnows? That's been my mainstay for crappie bait at Toledo.

How do you locate reds during the different seasons?

I would like to have a central crappie fishing feed on this website, so if no one can point me to one, let's make this it. Any tips, advice, reports, or questions are welcome. I have a question myself. On Toledo Bend, you can catch crappie by the hundreds over brush piles in June. This year, however, was not the case. Anyone know a reason why? I can only think about the rain possibly affecting it but I have no clue.

Where would the bass be located as far as depth is concerned this time of year?

I will be going to Richland Chambers at the end of the month and I have never fished there. My uncle has done GREAT catfishing there, but he doesn't bass fish. I would like to try, so any tips or advice would be appreciated also. Any advice for striped bass fishing would gladly be taken as well.

I was wondering because if it was a reaction strike then I might could have used another bait that produces reaction strikes as well.

So on Tuesday this week I caught my first 3 pounder off of a black and white KVD crank bait. After I had caught it, I wondered if the bass had liked that lure that I threw or if it was a reaction bite that I got him on. Anyone have any info on how to determine if they are biting on reaction strikes or not?
