Comeback City
Forgive me of being ignorant of tourney fishing. I guess some guys follow it like Nascar or football, lol. I am going to follow it some this year. Curious if there are famous tourneys where somebody has come back with a big limit final day to squeak out a win. Or a famous shootout win. Also, do you have any fun wins or dismal losses where you experienced a heartbreaker?

New Video: How To Detect A Soft Plastic Bite
Say, do you use a floating worm? Believe it or not, I have never fished this rig. I have always caught plenty on regular Texas style worm with sliding sinker, but, I'm branching out, lol. I fully well know how to feel a bass, but intrigued with new ways to fish.

New Video: How To Detect A Soft Plastic Bite
I don't see a link to a video for the described split shot rig. EDIT: I don't know if this is it but I found a "how to" section and this video -- http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/splitshot-mojo-rig.html

Ned Rig Believer
What is a clacker? So, she was fishing it under a float like you would a nightcrawler worm, on a jighead or just what? Thanks.

Does This Seem Like A Good Deal?
The boat is 26 years old, so, just be aware of that. As for the price, if the boat runs good, that price seems good to me but I'd offer less. Also be aware that you will likely need to spend some more money for this and that to get it like you want it. But for $3,200 and if it runs good, that's a catch. You will need a spare tire. Maybe new tires if those are crappy. Does the live well work? Are the straps/ropes in good shape or need replacing? What shape is the carpet / upholstery in? Is it rotten? If so, it will fall apart rapidly when you start fishing it alot. If all the latter is ratty, I'd reconsider or lower the price quite a bit for installing new.

Which Pline?
What do you mean by that, ran behind the boat? If so, how fast you pull?

They go 12' now, that is awesome. Although, expensive! Might come in handy.

Finally Got My First Boat
That is cool that he put those brackets on there for the wheels! Is that an axle that goes all the way through such that he kept them on all the time and fished with them on? LOL, that's even cooler if so. It's actually a good idea for a pond fisherman.

What To Wash Hands With To Remove Odors
I had a guy offer to detail my truck for $40 and I took him up on it to try him out. He worked 3.5 hrs and did a fabulous job. About 5 yrs of bugs was on the front of the truck. He got 100% of it off and he used Simple Green. I was impressed. I wash my truck twice a year whether it needs it or not.

What To Wash Hands With To Remove Odors
I haven't thought about Ivory soap in many a year. When I was a kid, my dad took me trotlining. We set out the trotline and baited it with Ivory soap. We had to leave to check the cows and when we went back to check the line, it was gone, somebody stole the whole thing.

People Abusing Fish
Thanks goes to the OP for doing this. I can't stand disrespect for wildlife. I would love it if I could do a "Citizen's Arrayest, Citizen's Arrayest" like Gomer did on Andy Griffith Show. But I'd be packing heat, these rednecks here are wicked.

Buying A Used Jon Boat Or Bass Boat Help...
About 30 yrs ago, I bought a 12' jon boat that was "wide and deep," as opposed to your regular 1232 or whatever they are. I loved that boat and my buddy fished with me a lot, so, two could fish it for sure. I didn't even have a trailer, we hauled it in my pickup to local lakes and ponds and also Toledo Bend many a day.

Which Spinning Reel Should I Buy
I bought at Pfleuger President 6940, they can be had on Ebay for $53. On this forum, somebody said the 6940 isn't necessary, that down to a 6930 is better, it's lighter and plenty strong. Might pick one of those up but I am looking at other models, too. I note that Lew's makes one for $40, I started a thread about it. I like my President just fine. I am fishing Superline 20 lb on it, have it matched to a Berkley Lightning Rod Shock rod, which is only $40 at Walmart. I'm also looking at other rods, but I like the Shock.

Buying A Used Jon Boat Or Bass Boat Help...
I just bought my boat, a 1997 Bass Tracker 17' with 40hp Merc and 37 lb Motor Guide troll motor, for $3,500 and it runs great. I also bought a fully rigged 15 year old Sprint 17' boat with 90hp Force 2 yrs ago for $5,000. Sold it last year, wish I had it back. Deals can be found but you have to shop and also be patient. I don't have any idea why you are having such problems with titles. That seems odd to me, that people do not have a title. In addition to hoping to find a fully rigged bass boat, a couple of possibilities. A new 10hp motor can be had for $2,000. A 7.5hp, I dunno what they cost, maybe $1,700? You could put it on a 14' jon boat, which you could buy new for $400. Your trailer is the problem, they are not cheap. I saw one for $1,200 for a 14 footer. If you could buy used on the trailer (or any of this stuff), that would help. Another thing that intrigues me is one of these plastic boats that have two seats in them, pond jumpers. You could buy a trailer and a boat and a troll motor and batteries and really rig it up for $3,000. Much less if you buy used. I also picked up a 5hp Nissan outboard that runs like a top for $150. You need to get around good ol' boys. During my years as a young boy and man, I caught a TON of bass in a jon boat with a used 10hp Merc. I trolled with a paddle, sitting at the bow. Made a figure 8 sculling motion with a short paddle. That's how we used to do it before troll motors came along. You can also rig a hand-controlled regular troll motor at the bow OR stern on a jon boat, I've done it a lot. In fact, I have a 14' jon boat, the 5hp Nissan and $200 Minn Kota that I put at the stern and I fish "backwards" down the lake. EDIT: If you want to fish alone, down here (LA), they make troll motor "pirogues" made of fiberglass. Like an electric powered kayak. They are awesome for one man. They make a two-man but I'd use it as a one-man, just have more room. Here is a good one -- http://watermoccasin.net/water-moccasin/-- the two-man, I called about it and I think it is $3,280. Another manufacturer, I forget the name, makes one with troll motor on opposite end. There are advantages to either end.

If You Were A Bass Pro
I don't know enough about modern bass gear to comment except to say that the Daiwa I just bought is fabulous. Best reel ever for me. As for how many, I recently read something, it might have been that thread about what it takes to be a pro and it was crazy how many rod/reel rigs this one guy had. It made me think good gracious, why so many? Where would you put all that stuff?

The Switch From Spinning To Baitcaster
The BPS pro qualifier has regularly great reviews. My buddy bought one a few months ago on the sale-of-a-lifetime -- $50. The BPS guy later said "Probably never" when we asked if they would have them for that again. The local store sold, like, 500 of them, people were lined up when they opened. My bud was lucky to get one but he's a lefty and they had one more in stock. The salesman said they will probably go for $70 to $80 when on sale again. You might shop around (even online) for a used reel or a bargain online. I recently bought a high end Daiwa for a great price on Ebay.
