Road To The Pros
I'm homeschooled... Anyway i will keep looking for clubs. Im actually closer to Daytona Beach than i am Orlando although it is still considered central florida. So places around Orlando are at least an hour drive. Thats a bit too far D:

Road To The Pros
I know i have a lot of more important things ahead me since i'm only 13. But a kids gotta dream right? Winning tournaments and getting sponsors has always been a goal since i first picked up a rod. I remember sitting in my 1st grade class and the teacher was asking students what they wanted to be when they grow up. My answer was a fisherman. Maybe in a couple years this could be a reasonable goal. I'm kinda worried though. There are no fishing clubs near me and no tournaments. So i'm just another kid who seemingly catches tiny bluegill on spincasts all day. It's not that i don't have confidence. I believe that if i ever got into a tournament i would win no doubt. So right now i realize that i need to build my résumé. But how exactly do i do that?

Just Getting Started
Read the articles. Read the threads. As for lures here are some i would suggest: Topwater: For beginners this takes out the difficulty of sensing strikes. Rebel Pop-R, Super Spook, Hula Poppers are all good lures. Jitterbug is also a classic. (Don't forget frogs!) My first lure was a beetle bou marabou jig. Its one of the harder lures to use but once you get it down it'll catch panfish, bass, trout, anything you can think of. Heck i've even caught catfish on it. Make sure you have some crankbaits and spinnerbaits in your tackle box, you can never go wrong with those. Overall the best advice anyone can give is to practice. Whether its reading stuff on here or out there fishing.

Flies On Spinning Gear?
Do you know if you need the bead and swivel or can you just fish with the bubble float and fly?

Flies On Spinning Gear?
Is it possible to fish Flies on spinning gear? By possible i mean would you catch fish? I realize that it probably wouldn't be able to cast that far since you would be casting the fly and not the line unlike fly fishing.

Baitcasting 101
What are some rods that have multiple (atleast 2) pieces? I'd prefer something that could fit in a car trunk.

Baitcasting 101
Excuse my ignorance, but, dig in? Are there problems besides birdnests that i should be aware of?

Baitcasting 101
Yes it may see saltwater. But for the most part bigger fish would be pike or musky. Although i realize they don't live in florida i would love to catch them up north next summer. Also, with pike in mind, heavier line would be a good idea wouldn't it?

Trout 101
What gear is best for trout? I have a 5' ultra light rod with a spinning reel equipped with 8lb mono. I go trout fishing in wv every summer and want to come prepared next year. I have roostertail spinners 1/8oz and 1/16oz. I also have a gold johnson spoon (idk weight but it is trout sized). I managed to catch a 16.5in rainbow on a marabou jig this year. I realize now that trout are indeed line shy so i think i should get lighter line. So my main question is what line should i get, flouro or mono and what lb test? I can't afford fly gear so i'm stuck with my current outfit. Will it suffice? What other lures would you reccomend?

Baitcasting 101
I've always used spinning gear my entire life. I want to get a baitcasting combo, something for bass but could also handle some bigger fish. I'll also want some braided line with it. Maybe 20lb test? I've always used spinning gear with mono so this is a whole new world to me. Any suggestions? I don't have a budget yet so suggest away.
