  1. Fwiw the insights are a lightweight rod that is decent at $50 but a very brittle rod. I would stay away unless its a spinmi g version for finesse fishing. The yellow skeet Reese rods are garbage. I've seen tons of them break 1/3 way from the tip.
  2. quoteDicKs sporting goods has them clearanced in store.
  3. I too like the yozuri 3db prop bait. Come in good colors and the props make good noise/splash with the slightest twitch.
  4. Dsg has gl2 rods at 119.97 right now. I've read a lot about these and everyone seems to say they are not $200 rods. Are they a good rod at $119 though? They seem like they feel good, but am I better off with my duckett ghost? I was looking specifically at 803 jig/worm rod for precisely those applications.
  5. Medium heavy crucial. Ime crucial mh fishes closer to heavy and would be a good jig, big worm, or frog rod.
  6. Lower your drag. Keep tension but let them have enough line so that when they jump or turn they won't get leverage on you
  7. Sexy dawg walk easiest in my experience. They basically walk themselves. Yozuri makes good ones too. The lc Sammy's didn't walk very well for me but they sure are pretty.
  8. Right now apparently. Dicks has started clearancing stuff for winter already. . Veritas 2.0 Casting rods in select lengths $79 G. Loomis GL2 $119 St Croix Mojo bass rods $79 Revo Winch reels $149 Shimano sedonas are $29.97 some shadow raps were clearance to $6
  9. Dicks sporting goods during fall. They clearance lures and hardware like crazy hem run additional promotions on clearance prices. I bought a pflueger supreme for $45 and a patriarch for $75 last year. Got a shimano crucial for $80 once and a veritas 1.0 for lime $35
  10. I really like my duckett ghost cranking rod. Its mad all the difference for me landing fish while cranking
  11. Just a +1 for the supreme. Outstanding reel.
  12. If it weren't for durability issues I don't think I could find better worms than roboworms. Straight tail, fat ones, they have great action and awesome color varieties.
  13. Mine don't have twist locks. The narrow nose and weak plastic of a rage toad make the twist locks rip it apart after a little mileage or one fish. I use a weight because I move them really fast and it keeps them from flipping over as well as casting farther.
  14. I would not recommend a twist lock. The rage toads nose are not particularly durable. I use keel weighted ewg hooks so they run straight even at high speed.
  15. I haven't been impressed with my LFS speed spool either. Been pretty picky so far with weights of lures it will throw. I may be in the same boat, try one more then try something else. Loved my other less though
  16. Dt10s are awesome. Smash is my favorite color. Arashi deeps are also very good and have a great rattle and action. I..very interested in sixth sense deep runners but I've only tried their square bills, which are awesome.
  17. I would get a shomano Sahara to pair, but an okuma stratus from dicks is a good reel and it would match the rods color scheme really well
  18. I love these things. They move really well in the water and have good color offerings. The main problem is they are relatively expensive and not durable.
  19. Thanks for the help guys. Any tips on getting a kayak in closer to Little Seneca Creek?
  20. New to Maryland fishing here. Usually go to Clopper Lake as it is nearby. Went to Black Hills yesterday and was not as impressed as everyone else was. I launched my kayak out of the soft launch near the 121 bridge. Any tips for fishing this side? Is one side better or have more structure to fish other than the apparent gradual rock slopes I saw?
  21. It does. But you want some of them on. I use two.
  22. Pull two of the plastic pieces outwards. One on one side and its opposite on the other side. Then adjust tension know and practice
  23. I like Berkeley vanish. Its manageable and easy to find
  24. Roboworms. Doesn't matter the color but I always have a dark, a red and a blue version
  25. My vote is for Pflueger Supreme. They are super smooth and have a great drag. Can't be beat for $100
