Del-Mart Creature Kit?
i was thinking about getting one of these kits for my B-Day and i was wondering if anyone has this kit and if you like it? what would you compare the plastic too? (zoom, yum, yamamoto, etc.). thanks

Expanding my playbook---Spinnerbaits
i was fishing my home lake yesterday and the bass are kind of in the same situation yours are in. they are getting ready to spawn in the back of woody, lilly pad covered bays and sloughs. when the wind would pick up, i'd toss either a white or chartreuse spinnerbait. i ended up getting them on the chartreuse. but a few days ago i got them on the white....so i really don't know. just experiment i guess. but i would not throw a spinnerbait on a sunny calm day, that's when i'd start to pitch a jig & pig.

first smallie in the boat for the year!
this isn't a smallmouth but it came from the same lake.....and i didn't think it was worth starting a whole new thread. caught her on a spinnerbait in a shallow slough. water temp. was 55*. should be making beds pretty soon...

What lure would you throw first..
first i'd throw a spinnerbait to try and get active fish, then i'd go with a weightless senko/lizard.

i love fishing that brush! nothing better then flippin a jig up into the brush and pulling out a hog

first smallie in the boat for the year!
it was 49-50. i went out on friday evening and it was 53, but the fishing was a lot worse. i only got 2 hits and one fish around 2lbs.

1st crankbait
sounds like you should get some more of those

I hate being 15
it sounds like i'm lucky that my dad likes fishing as much as i do

Soft plastic craws
yup, i've never caught anything on a "realistic" looking craw, but i've caught many on craws that are basically half worm, half craw.

first smallie in the boat for the year!
YAYHOO!!!!! the smallies are finally in pre-spawn on good ole lake washington. caught 3, missed 2 hits, and lost one in the fight. the fish went 12", 15", and 17.5". the conditions wern't the best out there today. the water temp dropped a couple degrees since yesturday, there was a tourny going on, and the wind was BAD (and i have a smallish boat). so i was very limited on what i could do, only fished 3 hours till the wind kicked me off. caught them in 15'-25' next to bridge pillars on a dropshot. all released.

new combo, this should be my best one
they did the same thing with the pflueger trion, it's the exact same reel as BPS micro lite reel. i have a supreme and it's a great reel. i'm thinking about getting a supreme spinning reel soon...

Gammy Skip Gap Hooks
i've only used them for tubes so far and they work great! they will work good for other plastics as well.
-
Western Washington - Silver Lake
i've also never had a "great day" for numbers, but the size of the fish is hard to beat

What makes a Senko a Senko
i agree, that's why all of their other baits out catch other brands with "run of the mill" plastic.

YUM Buzzfrogs Sink?
i have also found that the YUM frogs like to turn around during the retrieve. and because they sink, i feel like i have to reel them in way to fast. i've found that most bass like a slow retrieve on buzzing type baits, not burning across the surface.

Tackle shop ratings
there is a local shop that i go to that is called Angler's Choice. i like them because they have lots of small brands that other people don't have like KGM custom baits, Clearwater, Sniper, Crooked Creek, McCoy Fishing Line, etc. and they also have many of the more popular componies like Yamamoto. oh, and the owners are really nice!

What would be your fav lure if you were a bass?
a drop shotted WCCT money worm. just wouldn't be able to stand that thing wiggling in front of me
