Smallmouth bass in cold water
where i live, washington, there is a lake that has some of the best smallie fishing in the state. it's important in winter to go deep with small presentations. i like to use drop shots with small 3" baits like a sniper snub (kinda like a senko). and deep is 40'+. this lake is also well known for plenty of 12"+ perch, and in the winter you have to go out to 100'+ to catch them a float & fly is a light bobber and jig system made for smallies. never used it...... kinda hard to use in 40' of water!!!

5 trout 1 albino...any recipe ideas?
that sounds more reasonable to me. i've never heard of (or seen) a albino trout before..... and i live in washington, the slimer capital of the world!!!

Crappie bite?
yeah i like crappie.com a lot. i've fished with some of the guys on there and they are really cool. all the guys on the washington board (like 10 maybe) don't only fish for crappie. we probably only talk about crappie fishing 50% of the time. we like the bass in washington too!!!

Crappie bite?
yeah i'm a member of crappie.com, washingtonfishingfools.com, and gamefishin.com. i was catching them really good at silver lake (cowlitz county). but i know they are hitting at some other lakes like the potholes, kapowsin, tanwax (closed for the winter :'(), and roesiger. but if i remember right you are from stevens county? what ever one is in the top corner of the state.

Crappie bite?
for one it's still fall ;D the crappie are schooling up pretty good around here. pretty easy to catch if you can find a school. during the winter i will start to catch them at night in 30'-50' of water with lights...... but i'm in washington, and i'm guessing your from florida. but that's just a wild guess......

silver lake crappie
the bass were having a bad case of lock jaw. there was a bass tourny that weekend and they wern't catching any either. the first day of the tourny the big bag was a little over 6lbs. it was ugly. i got a couple dinks and one decent 1.5lber next to a log on a senko next to the island. it really starts to make you made when you see all thos pics of 6lb-8lbers in the store. did you ever get any good sized crappie out of there? like over 12"?

How shallow do crappie go??
crappie go very shallow, mainly during the spawn. caught some in less then 1' on a couple of lakes around my area. they can also be caught pretty shallow during the fall. i was catching my crappie from silver lake (different thread) in 3' of water or less right next to brushy shorelines.

silver lake crappie
went to silver lake (washington) over the weekend to do a little crappie fishing. the crappie on this lake school up like crazy in the fall. they go up into these canals that snake through the brush. they are about 5' at the deepest in the middle and about 50' at the widest. the shoreline is covered with lily pads and brush..... and hungry crappie! whats cool about this lake also is that it has white crappie, one of the only washington lakes that has them. most of the fish were only about 8" with some up to 11" but when you get over 100 in a couple hours, it's still a lot of fun. a couple of 11" white crappies. picture wasn't taken in the canal. in the other pics you can kinda see the canal.....

do you have a favorite lake?
the lake i fish the most and have good luck on is lake washington (in the middle of downtown seattle). but the lake i like the most is the potholes reservoir in eastern washington (moses lake area). it's about 3 hours from where i live.
