  1. The genisis of McCabe's post was his creation "looked stupid" My post related to his subject implying it was not stupid. Sorry it was unrelated to the morph of naming it. I,ll move on.
  2. I only fish one worm. Berkley 10" Power worm in Blk/blu fleck, Plum and green Pumpkin.
  3. Sorry I missed your post until to late. By now you know LOZ was on Idle speed only since last week.. If you are still there start at OZ BBQ and the 2nd dock down on left past the restaurant has deep brush off the right corner. Use 10" Berkley Power worms and move on down a few docks to crappie dock good brush down to 20' across front. Work this bank along all docks to the back the same way. last few docks in back all have brush. They should be pulling water like crazy so all the main lake points should hold a few really good bass also. You can also catch Kentuckies off almost every condo dock corner by swimming eakin's jigs and jerkbaits tight to the corners. When I work this pattern I don't even turn the big motor off: pull up about 10 yards off corner work it with 2-3 casts and move on. Not unusual to catch 15-20 keeper Kentucky bass during middle of the day . Great pattern for the kids if you do the casting. Workmans creek across the lake has a lot of brush also. Alhonna Resort docks is a good spot for release fish, (all over 15") from previous tournaments.
  4. I would look for a good used Cherokee.
  5. I would look for a good used Cherokee.
  6. Through the years I have often seen bass try to take a bait away from another bass, especially Kentucky bass on dock corners.
  7. very good, effective procedure.
  8. My favorite method is fishing a Zara Spook in thin woody water on Table Rock lake, then switching to a Senko as the sun gets up. My least favorite is power crank bait fishing.

  10. I keep a route list of all my structure, mostly deep brush piles, I then just add the keepers >(15") I catch from that location. Over time a cull or add specific spots from the list.
  11. very well done.
  12. Howa is a well built decent rifle. For value I would much prefer the CZ although I have never owned neither.
  13. try a 2/0 Owner circle hook with corn covering all but the tip.
  14. Yes, but most are finished in the central region.
  15. I like P-Line and Maxima for baitcasting. Berkely XL for spinning.
  16. I don't eat the ribs unless it squeals. 8-)
  17. The "outstanding work" relates to your ability to disclose how a brand name rod builder uses a two piece blank glued together at the butt and maintains it is a sensitive piece of equipment.
  18. S~764 You may be right . I spend most of the summer after June fishing deep brush piles on LOZ where the hook set has to get him turned in right direction then out. Leads to bad habits.
  19. Attached is a couple of G-Loomis rods I rebuilt inlaying a crawdad in the butt made from fly tieing feathers.
  20. I have incurred quite a few benefits from learning how to build my own rods. I get a stronger sense of pride and accomplishment building my own equipment, similar to the trout fisherman tying his own flies. I am able to repair them when they break ,especially replacing the guides and tips. Blanks don,t decompose so you can rebuild and redesign them into near new. Once your on top of your game you can build and repair them for others.$$. There is good market for saltwater sets. more $$.
  21. I believe crank baits and buzz baits on mono hold more bass because braided line tends to tear at the hook hole whereby the hook can pull out especially on jumps and at the side of the boat. This is not the case with Pike, Muskie, Redfish and plastic baits. Just as putting braided line on a medium action crankbait rod seems counter productive. Braided line on 10" power worms ect. and deep brush is potent.
  22. I don't subscribe to the theory braided line is good for crank baits or buzz baits. A medium power rod and mono with a little stretch will hook hold more fish.
