  1. Really dark or mirrored sunglasses can help conceal some of this. Oh, and the ability to rotate your eyes like an iguanna (sp?) while looking straight ahead is helpful as well I would imagine. ;D
  2. Good one Muddy! I enjoy history. Don't do any collecting, just reading and learning. Enjoy American history the best. Like visting historical places - especially related to the civil war. Of particular interest is the Revolution, Civil War, WWII and Vietnam. Totally dig the Military and History channels. Several years ago read EVERYTHING I could find on the Vietnam war (it was a war IMHO, not a conflict). Met and became best friends with a guy that was on a Carrier (name is escaping me right now) when Siagon fell. Got me really interested and why I started reading everything I could find. Was a kid during this time (b. 1965) but I remember the body counts on TV. Remember being out with my Parents, in New Port News, VA and Church Bells ringing, sirens going off, etc and asking them what was going on and they said the war was over. Remember watching my mom cry in front of the TV when they showed the prisoners being released. Remember the scenes on TV when Siagon fell. Hoping to make it to the memorial at Normandy one day. Eddie
  3. Thought this was joke, but, no. There really is such a thing. Shocking. http://www.reelexpressions.com/ All looks like a gimmick. For folks who don't know how or want to learn how to work their lures. Takes all the fun out of it IMHO. Reminds me of some the bath toys (less the hooks of course) that I have seen for children.

Use a trailer hook on the buzz. Like to bounce the spinners off of structure, so, do not typically use a trailer if there are a lot of sticks. Eddie
  5. Its hard for me to walk out of Wal-Mart without a handful of something. And yes, save the money - avoid the temptation to use the plastic. That can get dangerous quickly. Eddie
  6. Are these the same as the polaroid glasses Roland Martin talks about? ;D Sorry, couldn't resist. I do like Roland. Anyway, I am with the Wal-mart/off-brand variety. Have just lost/broke/sat on/dropped/stepped on, etc. too many over the years. I do believe that a person will take better care if you have a $100 pair. I was using a pair of my old cycling glasses for a while that I got from Performance Bicycle for about $30 that were pretty nice. I'm with ZZ Topp - gotta getcha some cheap sunglasses - at least for me anyway. Eddie
  7. Another vote for a black buzz bait - with a trailer hook. Was out a couple of weeks ago when it was getting dark and was throwing a spook. Walking it slow/twitching and caught two in about 30 minutes along a deep grass bed.
  8. Great post, Avid. Enjoyed reading that one and the thought process you were using. Agree with you on having confidence in what you are doing. Think your post also shows how you must be persistent in finding the right combination. Eddie
  9. I have rigged these using a weedless 1/4 or 3/8 oz round head jig. Stick the jig head through the craw - head to tail, then poke the eye through the back/tail and tie on the line. Orient the jig so that the hook will be over or through the head. If using a big craw, can poke the hook through the top, almost T-rigged style, or just let the hook stay out where its over the head. I then bounce this along the bottom - gives it a nice action as it looks like it is bouncing back on its tail. Has worked well for me. When using a jig, I just thread the hook through the tail and push it back as far as possible. Then T-rig it through the top. I like what MyKeyBe was describing as well with the sinker inside. Sounds like that would not get hung up as much as what I am using. Will have to give it a try. Eddie
  10. As Raul stated, on the bank the sliding/knocking lures do not work to great, at least not for me. Had one from Cabella's that I tried once and never got the lure back as I could not get the ring out to the lure due to the lack of a slope. Tried throwing out, and that didn't work to well either. I did order some of the rings but have yet to put them on anything. I have resigned myself to only throwing lures that I do not care about losing from the bank. Eddie
  11. Have had success with the mini torpedo black shiner. Just picked up a NIP-I-DIDDE yellow/black frog off of ebay that I am anxious/hoping to try out this weekend. Eddie
  12. Our oldest Dell is about three years old. Got one for my parents a couple of years ago. Haven't had a single problem with any of them - CPU, monitor, disk, etc. I am a big fan of Dell. Next one will be a Dell - if not a new Apple ;D . We have close to 3,000 at work of which about 2400 are desktop the rest laptop. Almost all desk units (including docking stations) have the Dell monitors which have been very reliable. In the data center we have over 200 Dell servers. Everything from the pizza-box units up to the 6-ways. They are very reliable and stable for us. My belief is that you can't go wrong with a Dell. They are like Fender guitars - you can find better, but for the money you can't beat 'em. Eddie
  13. Like other's, depends on the day and the mood I am in. As of late I am TOOOOOOTALLY into Coheed and Cambria. Yes, a 41 yr old man diggin' C & C. 14. Wow - Really nice fish. Keep catching those pigs as long as you can, then hurry back home and catch some more!
  15. To: Management Excuse me, sir, In response to your last memo regarding foul language, that's interesting. I love a challenge, but, I'm a bit overloaded at the moment. You should check with Susie, she's an aggressive go getter, and sure she is willing to help. However, I don't think you understand, and, I think you could use more training in regard to this subject. I'm certain that isn't feasible and I am not sure it can be implemented. My boss, well, he was somewhat insensitive to this subject, and, he's not familiar with the issues. I will try to work on the new policy, I will try to schedule that and perhaps work late. Your loyal goat-horn holding subjects.
  16. That is funny!
  17. Sorry for you guys having problems. I have made about half a dozen orders with them the last 6 months or so - baitmonkey is working me hard - and have been pleased. Some of the shipping times have taken longer than I thought or hoped. Made an order a couple of weeks ago, then noticed they were having a sale on jigs about a week ago. The packages arrived about a day apart. Thought that was odd.....
  18. I bought several of these last summer. They are not as well made as some of the more expensive ones - the wire is lighter and the skirts are not as nice a quality - but I have used them successfullly and caught a bunch of fish on them. I have no complaints, for a dollar they're hard to beat and if you lose it, doesn't hurt as bad.
  19. frogtog, that's good. I got to go get some dog food tomorrow and the store I go to the little girl always asks me what kind of dog I have - gonna tell her about the diet I'm on. That's great. Eddie
  20. Guess we will be seeing top-water-gator-plugs on the tour soon? ;D Very cool video. Thanks for posting.
  21. Just wanted to pass on a good find if others are interested. I do a lot of pond and bank fishing. Carrying my old hard plano tacklebox by the handle gets heavy and leaves only one hand free. Was really looking for something I could sling over my shoulder so have been looking at a lot of soft bags. Got a big plano soft tackle box, but, its big and bulky - I love it, but, carrying it through the woods and along banks can be a bit cumbersome. Started looking at something smaller and came across this back pack on Cabela's and gave it a shot: Cabela's Angler Backpack BPS has something similar as well as a Browning bag. I chose the Cabela's bag because it seemed to offer the most space and more flexibility. So far, I am VERY pleased. Is very well made - thick padding and heavy zippers with heavy rope pulls. The bottom is a solid flexible rubber bottom. Has some slots in the bottom where bags, sleeping bag, etc. can be attached. I am able to carry (4) 3600 boxes, full (bulging) worm wallet, tools, couple of extra reels, note pad, boga grip, cell phone and camera. Seems like it would be pretty water proof and one compartment is labeled as waterproof that has an extra lining under the zipper. Really like the heavy handle on top - a feature some of the other bags did not have; very handy. I am 6'-2" and weigh around 325. The waist belt is a little tight but I just don't use it. The shoulder straps are easily adjustable. If you are looking for something that is easy to carry, and has space I definitely recommend this. Eddie And yes, the bait monkey has been all over me.
  22. Fished it a couple of times the last month or so. No luck. The action is real, real nice though. I think it will catch fish once things get warmer around here.
  23. Thank you for proudly serving our country. May God bless you and keep you safe. Take care, Eddie
  24. When I got back into fishing a couple of years ago, picked up an assortment of 50 spinner buzz baits off ebay for $15 with shipping. Looked like they were some kind of knock-offs for bulk sales at shows. Anyway, have a lot of success with these and at about $.30 each, well worth it. Although, I like the deal that juggalo got better. Eddie
