How Do you Guys Afford Your Boats?
I fished the bank and rivers until I was 36 years old, my first boat was a 2001 fisher 14 avenger with a 25hp. It worked fine and got me off the shoreline. Once I got ahead a little I sold it and added that money to a 2014 tracker and have been very happy with it. Its also paid for. I would love to own a new Ranger but it just not gonna happen. I say buy used and just make sure everything is nice and working properly, nothing is wrong with fishing on smaller aluminum boat. My first boat-

Ah, yes I did see those also... I grabbed a few packs, not sure why they use such giant packaging for them.

That's the one thing on my list are the guide wear bibs. Maybe the boat batteries and some BPS tungsten worm weights...

So I got a job at Cabelas and had a question for you guys. What is some Cabelas/BPS name brand stuff that is a must buy?

Cranking sticks!!!
The Bantam is a 150 size reel, it holds 110 yards of 12lb test. You can also look at the Curado K. Both have brass gear sets. If you are using braid that is plenty. That Calcutta in the picture is a 101 and holds 110 yards of 12lb test. I use 20lb braid, my most used crankbait is a Megabass deep x 300 but I have thrown heavier and deeper sized cranks without any issues.

Cranking sticks!!!
I'm the same but for some reason the Calcutta just fits this rod and feels d**n good in the hand. If I didn't have the Calcutta I would put a Bantam MGL with a 5.5 gear ratio from Japan.

Cranking sticks!!!
Sensitivity is actually pretty good, its not NRX good but I can feel my crankbait work. I also run braid on mine with a Fluorocarbon leader, its like the best of both worlds, the braid provides no stretch for sensitivity and hookset while the rod takes care of holding on to the fish. I don't think I have lost a fish on a crankbait since I have gotten this rod. There's nothing like that buttery smooth power curve of glass when you have a nice fish at the end of line trying to throw your treble hook bait. Did I mention how sexy it is LOL, the blank color is a rich honey color in the shade and a burnt orange in the sunlight, its very traditional looking.

Cranking sticks!!!
St-Croix Legend Tounament Glass is the best crankbait rod I have used. I have the MH and its amazing.

Never used fluoro - need a recommendation
Tatsu is what I would use. I use it as leader material, I also use a lot of sunline.

Snap swivels
These are what I use https://www.thehookuptackle.com/fishing-Japan+Tackle/Split+Rings+and+Snaps
- G Loomis GlX or Shimano Expride

Snap swivels
I use them for all baits except drop shot, plastics and obviously spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. But for jerks, cranks, spinbaits and spoons they work amazing IMO. I use Owner and Decoy snaps from Japan, I can't find any good kind that I like here in the U.S. I also remove all spit rings on all my baits.

Edge rods by Gary Loomis - thoughts?
Helium 3, my bad LOL

What should I do?
If it was one of mine I would take it apart.

Gloomis NRX rods
I would take the 852 and the 893. The 873 felt to stiff and more like a 4 power..
