  1. Well I bit the bullet and bought the curado 201hg. So far I love the reel! Now I need to find a good rod for it. This weekend should be a good time to look. Thanks everyone!
  2. Yea order from dicks. I have a couple of the duckett ghost rods. They're sweet!
  3. I'll check it out and see what I can find. But how do you know who to trust???
  4. Weird it stared "***"? Not sure why. Anyway, I appreciate the help. I'm gonna poke around a little more and see what I can find
  5. Mostly where I'm at is heavy timber and some thick grass I typically through a 3/8 or 1/2 ounce jig with vilecraw trailers. So I was thinking 7-7'3" heavy rod? Does that sound good? What do you think about *** black rods? I've read they're really good for pitching/flipping.
  6. Never been a fan of eBay. I've had a few bad experiences. I don't mind buying new. Yudo1 - I'm new to bass fishing so I'm not sure. What I do is hold my jig in my hand and use the other to flip the rod towards my intended target. And I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems that the curado I and tatula are pretty popular reels for the price range. Which is better?
  7. Hey everyone! Been a while since I've been on. (Busy with work) but now that I'm back, I have some questions. I recently made a trip to a place here in WA state called potholes reservoir. Not having the best largemouth fisheries in eastern WA, I was extremely surprised on how good the fishing was and the size of fish! Anyways, long story short. Of all the techniques I tried, flipping jigs into cover was the way to go. Didn't catch a fish under 3lb! (That's pretty good for here) so now I want to put together a good (decent for the price) flipping stick combo. So, keeping it around 3-350$ what combo do you guys think would be the best bang for my buck? I'm currently looking at shimano curado I series reel 7.3.1 ratio but still not sure. Please help!! Thanks!
  8. Thank you for your service! Where abouts in eastern Washington are you?
  9. I live in pasco! Have had some great fishing this year largemouth and smallies. How's the fishing in Yakima?
  10. Try throwing a hollow bodied frog over the shallow submerged weeds either early morning or just before sundown. Your bound to catch a lot of fish an maybe even weed out a couple big ones. Especially if you use a bigger frog.
  11. If you're having trouble with hook up ratio bend the hooks up and outwards. I'd say I have a 90% hook up ratio with my frogs. Give it a try. Let me know how it works
  12. I'm a professional golfer from eastern WA. I work at a private country club that has a few ponds. And most courses in my area have 4-6 ponds and let me tell you, They have some big fish in them! Most private courses will not let you fish them BUT if you live near a public course with ponds and you go in the pro shop and ask to fish them before and after hours. Which is usually before 7a.m and after 7p.m than more than likely they will let you. Even some private courses might but it depends on the membership. So if I was you I would go in and talk to the pro. Don't call! Go meet with them. Good luck!
  13. My new PB was caught on a albino spro bronzeye frog.

So after a couple reel issues this morning I was able to get out on the water with a complete new set up Duckett terex Dean Rojas model 7' Abu Garcia Revo s reel And trusty Spro frog in the albino color And.... On my second cast caught my new PB! Needless to say I'm pretty excited. She went back with no issues. Can you guess the weight??
  23. Well I took your advice and took it back today. Turns out it was missing parts and they knew about it! They said they don't know how it got back on the shelf. Oh well. And they were out of more of the same reel. So after refunding me my money they also gave me an additional 50$ store credit. Which was cool. So I bought an Abu Garcia Revo s. And after fishing with it today I gotta say I like it a lot. And! On my second cast with a complete new set up caught my new PB! Today was a good day . Thanks for the help!
  24. So I just got a new set up today. It's a quantum accurist pt casting reel. And I put on fx2 froggin and flipping 50lb braid. Now here's my problem?. After I put it on my new pole and spooled it, when I put my lure on and went to adjust my spool tension nob. It has to be all the way tighten down. And if it's not than when I open it up the lure drops super fast and it over turns quite a bit. And that's with the internal braking system and external turned all the way up. So what's going on? Cause my okuma reel isn't like this. Is this a problem? And what do I do to fix it? PLEASE HELP
