  1. I've seen it before. Take some really heavy fluorocarbon and spool it and it will do the same thing.
  2. I'm going to take a wild guess and say because the OP said, "this would even happen when I wasn't doing anything with the reel." I would say slow down and take a look at a few YouTube videos and see exactly how that line is to be put on coming off the spool and onto the reel. This sounds like it's not been put on correctly. I know you said you think you have installed it correctly but sometimes we are so confident that we overlook or misunderstand something we thought we were doing correct. That seaguar invizx is a fairly common line so I have to believe it's a installation issue 1st since no one else that I know of is publicly saying they are having issues with it. That being said It is possible that batch had a problem but I would really look at your end first.
  3. I had one do my worm like that the other day. I might have slowed down a fraction he caught up and I set the hook. He was hitting the tail so hard it jerked the tail off the zoom u tail. When I brought him in the boat the tail was completely gone. About 10 minutes later the tail came floating by. I don't usually change my action as what ever you are doing is why he hit it in my opinion.
  4. Exactly if the throttle sticks or some other crazy accident happened and I hit someones nice new boat or hurt someone God forbid at least I have coverage. They can still try and sue me but just about any judge is going to limit damages to the insurance unless some intent is involved.
  5. I use Progressive as well. My policy covers a load of stuff including $1000.00 of fishing tackle, medical payments, uninsured boaters and more for a lousy $200.00 a year. If my boat was free I would buy the insurance at this rate. One rod n reel cost more than that. A lower unit ? etc one little accident and you will regret not having it.
  6. I haven't caught one in the head lately or that I even remember. But last weekend I did hook one on the bottom lip from the outside in. I'm still not sure how my t-rigged worm didn't bounce off the outside of the fish. I just consider it a freak deal. Three times in the head is odd.
  7. I have the best success removing them with a good average size set of needle nose pliers. The next best advise I can say is experience removing them makes it easier. It's like practice over and over eventually you get better at the process.
  8. Wednesday August 13th 2014 9pm I Stopped Smoking. After being addicted for 28 yrs smoking 2 pks a day or more I have no desire to have anymore. I did the I'm PO they make a mess, smell bad , and will kill ya, I refuse to be a slave to them program. In other words I quit cold turkey. I'm glad for anyone that can quit. Oh and sorry for creeping ya out. I find Chinese restaurants to overwhelmingly be the nastiest kitchens. But many fast food joints are running close seconds.
  9. I picked up a few items. Not bad on those worms I haven't used any craws from zman and the Z-MAN PITCHIN CRAWZ they have I couldn't find on their website to read about. I threw a couple in just to try at that price no big loss.
  10. Mine is a 18' and using rods in the 7' to 7'6" range we can fish 2 comfortably. Personally I would not want to go any shorter but I could see two anglers that were on the same page doing it with no problem.
  11. Mine fish just fine in rain. I wouldn't recommend letting them be submerged I cant see that "helping" anything.
  12. Probably a good read for ya. I've never owned one and with all the quality rod mfgs out there I would see it as a foolish gamble with your $ to risk buying one with such a bad history.
  13. " What else was I suppose to do while I waited for my food." I like to check out the cleanliness. I look at the habits of the employees. I look to see how they do their job. It's amazing what you can actually observe going on if you pay attention. I've walked out on occasion. After working in the Industry for some time it's easy for me to see very poor habits that make me not want to eat certain places.
  14. Some reason I remember a store as a kid that had all the displayed in a case similar to this. On a side note dusting that is going to be a bieach!
  15. I'm really getting into the crankbaits myself and have found the Rapalas DT to be one of my favorite from Rapala. I found the DT 10s to be very versatile. Great buy on that one. I almost got a deal like that on a DT14 with a old beat up box. It was marked down but the tag was even beat up and faded so it appeared to say .96¢ but there was a $6 that took a extremely close look to tell was ever there. $6.96 was no smoking deal. Haha
  16. I looked but didn't see any the other day when you posted. I was looking for some Rapala DT cranks. Do you have a link to the ones on sale?
  17. Since the OP mentioned "all around" color. Would you care to toss out what head and hook hypothetically speaking if you had to pick one you would go with?
  18. This might help ya some even though the tire size is slightly different. I just asked about tires not long ago
  19. I agree with thebillsman. I have all Lews but 1 BPQ and really like them. I know it sounds insignificant but one feature I really like on the Tournament is the audible clicking on the spool tension knob. That and the other features like the drag all make me desire it more over the standard speed spool. That being said with some shopping as stated with eBay etc you can basically eliminate the price difference. Either reel make great bass fishing that will last just shop a little and you can get the better reel.
  20. I would agree with this ^^^ But if I could only have one color it would be mainly green probably. I like the black green pumpkin on their site. I did just get me some bream and bluegill from them that are extremely nice looking.
  21. I am not sure I completely understand the whole issue but as far as being outbid in the last moments of the auction you might look at things like this. auctionsniper.com I have used it many times in the past you can set it to throw your bid in at the literal last 3 or 4 seconds before it ends. It also will automatically bid for you up to your max bid. The reason for this is it prevents others from seeing your interested and it prevents a bidding up of the product. That is best for all parties since no one wants to pay more than they have to.
  22. therodglove.com My favorites.
  23. Seriously they are only 4ft deep? Not sure where your at but here in Texas that would dry up to a puddle every summer.what I'm saying is there would be no fish. But hey if there are fish as you say and big ones I'd take some worms to t-rig and spinnerbait or chatterbaits for sure.
  24. Congrats! What was the bait ?
