To me this sounds like when I had a test and didn't study till the last minute. I'm a T-rIg worm or a Spinner bait guy. Both work year round.

Help with first bass boat
I can't say much as I haven't ever been in the market to spend 40k on a boat. But I did see or read can't remember which where a guy said the best deals were actually some of the Pro sponsored boats. He said the sponsors give them new boats each year and that the ones they used for one season were usually a excellent buy. He said by the end of the season every bug is worked out and the boats are basically better than buying a new one. You get a discount on it as it is used but only for 1season and has the best of the best equipment. Verses having to go through all the preparations and dealing with small issues that come with new. Along with paying full retail and losing the new money the minute you pull it off the lot. I don't know if that is a option but it sounded reasonable.

Thinking of upgrading from 25 hp motor
Not saying there isn't some truth to what your saying but looking at what you just claimed as a "whole bunch" I would say that was probably a dedicated raid based on a problem area. Probably had to many accidents or reported issues. I haven't seen anywhere near a whole bunch of engines/boats done this way here. Possibly a Jon boat here or there with a 5 or 10 HP over but the bass boats glass and aluminium are from the best I can tell are legal. Don't get me wrong I'm sure there is one here but I don't see a reason as most are nice boats and buying the right engine doesn't seem to be a issue.

Braided Line quesion from a noob
As long as you didn't use a sharp object to pick it out it should be fine. Like mentioned braid is usually the best at being able to get out a backlash for me.

Best rod, reel and line for frog fishing.
Him being the owner I don't see it as anything unheard of. Owners can do what they want heck he could give the rod away. The employees can't do that and that is usually who you deal with with companies. And owners 99.99% of the time are going to go that extra unlike a paid employee whos hands are tied to rules. It is good to know he is taking measures to take care of his customers though. Kudos to them. As for the OP setup I would suggest a reel with all aluminum frame if that hasn't been mentioned.

New casting combo
I'd go M since you already have MH it just seems to be the more versatile stick left considering what you already have. Of course if you are a guy that specialize in frog or heavy cover bass hunting I'd go H as you would use it more. But as stated you most likely will want to get more gear. So what you don't get this time you can get next b day.

Absolute's
Well I think I have to fill the live well as the one time I didn't I had a horrible fishing day. Don't eat to much before leaving out. See lo n slo 1st comment above. Always and I do mean always measure everything before you put in live well. Don't hurry and enjoy the bite while it's on and think you can go back and cull . Always have ice and water on board.

Buying a boat with an discontinued motor brand?
If the engine is checked out and is in good mechanical condition I wouldn't worry. Johnson engines are reliable and not known for problems. And the market is far from drying up on parts from what I understand. Also as stated it's a bargaining chip. I purchased my boat earlier this year and it has a 2000 yr model 115 Johnson and has ran like a top. Heck I have a 9.5hp Johnson from 1964 that still runs. These engines generally will run a long time properly maintained.

Zman TRD
I've heard that comment before but a recent post here had pictures and comment to the contrary. I don't know what is 100% accurate. Have you actually tried this, are you commenting from your actual experience. Or from internet reading etc?

Minn Kota or MotorGuide
Motorguide 10 yrs old according to previous owner only the cable to raise or lower it has broken. I just bought the boat this year so far works fine for me. I've had two transom mount Minn Kotas from Walmart on a couple other small boats. Neither lasted 2 seasons. I figure just bad luck MinnKota is a huge name I'm sure they are quality products. I would not be afraid of either brand. Maybe look at warranty and features and get the best price.

How many fish have you caught this year?
Quite a few but haven't ever kept records of numbers. Like has already been mentioned I fish for relaxation no need to stress over keeping counts or records.

2010 Triton Bass Boat - is this a good deal?
I agree it may not do 70+ mph might not do 50 either but seriously how fast do you need to get to where your going to have a relaxing day fishing. Sure if your tournament fishing and your racing to beat others to a spot OK. For some reason I suspect the OP isn't competitive bass fishing just yet. I'd much rather have a nice boat that had a gently used transom from a small motor than a 6 yr old ragged out 200hp that has been thrashing on my transom. There are positives to a smaller motor when buying used. You can always step up the motor but 90 is plenty to fish. Getting out on the water is a step in the right direction. All that being said don't over pay. Boats are everywhere. Shopping and knowledge of what your looking at are hard to beat.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?
So that Championship ring he is doing this for isn't worth any money? OK so with your theory NBA rings don't equate to money. All the accolades status his entire career is judged considering rings but it's not worth anything. Wink got it.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?
It's always about the money don't kid yourself. Take 10 mil off that contract and he isn't going to sign a d**n thing. They offered all the $ they felt they could to get him. If it wasn't about the money heck he should go for free he is already a millionaire. They are a top team he is joining to grab a cheap quick shot at a ring. Heck he should pay them for a roster spot. The NBA is a business and the players play as a job it is always about the money. Take the money away and let's see how the NBA survives. Take the $ out of all Professional sports and let's see how the landscape changes. Let's tell KVD he doesn't get his top 2 sponsors equipment next year and see how quick he has 2 new sponsors. It will make your head spin.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?
Amusing the way fans are acting. I could care less either way. He is going to his best option to get a ring or two. It cost him a little money but to him the odds of winning were worth it. It does again show how players do not have the same views as the fans when it comes to loyalty with a team, organization, or fan base. Ultimately its about the $$$$$$$$.

Mega Bass Jerkbaits .. Worth it?
With the literally million other lures out there that produce and are reasonably priced unless wealthy or a collector not a chance in Lucifer's house would a guy tie $25 cash to a fishing line and throw it way out there hoping a big fish will eat it and he can safely get it back to him. Otherwise that would look to be what is commonly called koo koo. $25 a piece for a bass lure not a chance. As a collector of purdy lures hey what ever floats your boat. Pun intended

Favorite bait and color for flipping/pitching wood?
I do the same thing using my t rig. I don't run my hook through though. Hooks are razer sharp the days. I try to leave a certain amount of material depending on what I'm using and I let it stay buried. This seems to make.my bait last just a little bit longer. I've had no problems with it hooking up. I'm using a offset round bend worm hook on slender profile baits like a 6" worm. And flipping style hook on the thicker baits like a Pit Boss. Pit Boss a punch skirt a 4/0 flipping hook and a weight usually not pegged are one of my favorite baits to pick at spots bass like. Colors are dependent on what's going on but the Big Texan color Pit Boss with a Missouri Craw color skirt is one combo I keep tied on fairly regularly.

Bill Lewis Rat-l-trap vs Strike King Red Eye Shad
My go to lipless is the Spro Aruku Shad. But many of the other brands work as well. I like the color choices of the Spro and Rattle Trap. I have many of them in different brands and colors. They all catch fish.
