yea I've tried removing the washers adding more,and just cant get the knob to spin freely when I tighten the knob screw.I'm going to try some different knobs next to see if I still have the same problem. thanks for your reply GG

I added new bearings to a handle on one of my reels ,the trouble is the knob doesn't turn free when I snug the knob screw never had this problem before,by the way its a bass or die knob., GG

Could someone please tell the difference between a Daiwa RCSB, carbon crank handle ,and a Daiwa RCS carbon crank handle.I appreciate your answers.The reason I ask is I saw the RCSB on PLAT Fishing available in 95mm,and 85mm also 100mm,but the daiwa Rcs 0nly in 80mm,90,mm,and 100mm .Thanks

No help to you,but is that a fenwick aetos rod,and if so how do you like it ,as I only have aetos casting rods.thank you

I use pinnacle perfecta's on all my patriarch's spinning reels, though they're not a close match they're close enough for me,and they're nice rods.I usually get mine for around $125.from one of the sporting goods stores when they have one of their 20% off sales.OK i just went and checked my pfueger patriarch,and the fenwick aetos is a much closer match though I only have aetos casting rods the colors are very close to the patriarch.

Something with a 5-1,or 5-4 ratio would do well,and some use a 6-1,or 6-4.I like the lews BBI personally, but shimano and daiwa in fact all the reel makers make a cranking (ie)low ratioreel for that purpose.Just fid one you like in your budget range.take care

I use the pinnacle perfecta DHC5 7ft 8in MH moderate fast,and lews BB1 5-1 ratio works very well..excellent combo for me

I forgot to add I'm a wheelchair user,and I don't find the longer rod difficult to use for crankbaits at all,where I have trouble is using a jerkbait,for that I use a short 6ft rod,but it still gives me fits .

I use a Lews BB1 5.1 to 1 with a pinacle perfecta DH5 7'"11" medium heavy moderate tip,and it works pretty good.If you're set on a shorter rod I believe the perfecta is available 7' with moderate tip which I believe works best.I bought the pinnacle when I got an email offer from Dick's for $30 off 100 so I saved a few bucks.

I got to try the alpha SV over the weekend,and I was amazed at casting distance of this reel with the ml volkey rod,I was casting as far as my son with his penn conflict spinning reel,and it's a good caster.I'm going to send this reel in to get bearing upgrades,and carbonexdrag washers this winter after fishing season this year,and also send the SS Sv for upgrade,and be ready (God Willing) this spring. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions,and to poisonoakie for the rod suggestion(volkey)it's sweet.

I went with the volkey,thanks (poisonokie.)I already had a medium cumara,but it was 7'2"long .I'll try them both on the alpha and see which I prefer. thanks again for everyones input.Very helpful anglers here. GG

Since I took the advice of a member here,and ordered a Sv105 Alpha,I was hoping someone could suggest a good rod to pair ith this little jewel.Would a medium ,or medium light be preferable.I was condidering getting a medium expride that has a moderate fast action for smaller jerkbait,crankbait,and senko's.and weightless worm fishing.Any othe suggestions would be appreciated,and thanks in advance for all suggestions. GG

As someone who received a broken rod this week that was shipped in a cardboard tube,but it was triangled shaped,and it was broke about five inches above the handle instead of the tip.If you ship in a pvc tube with proper precautions it will more than likely arrive safely.

I have a medium light spinning DH7,and its a very sensitive rod,I hope to get a medium next.I have 2 DH5 casting rods,and one spinning they're very also nice for the price..I believe pinnacle perfecta's.are one of the best buys in rods.

I have a couple of old chronarch 200's that still amaze me with their smoothness,and casting abilility .I bought them in the early 90's still use them.model CH200 bantam

For the youngsters the youth hunting day was extended to the whole weekend,added another day so that's good for them.

I remember several years ago my brother had to have the latest graphite rod paid over $300 for it.To make a long story short he put it in the trunk of his friends car,and got it squaared away,but they forgot to put ice in the cooler so they stopped and filled their cooler,but unfortunately the rod tip was left sticking out,ruined the whole trip for my brother.
