  1. How would that work??? As in gave both running? Please explain I'm interested
  2. Look up the owner flashy swimmer...my favorite way to fish them. Swim retrieve or fished like a Texas rig
  3. Go with the motor up front, make a rudder somehow, and never look back lol
  4. I don't even think about leaving shore without an anchor. anything over 5mph wind makes trying to control the boat and fish miserable. I mounted a cleat inside the boat on the side wall and drop anchor on any spot I want to fish halfway thoroughly. 10lb mushroom with 50 feet of 3/16 anchor rope.
  5. I love finding good deals on tackle among other things almost as much as bass fishing lol I refer to myself as Mr. Thrifty.
  6. In my opinion its worth it to get into a casting setup. The added control helps improve your accuracy (mostly distance accuracy) . I mean that by saying you want to cast right to the base of a tree but not hit it, a baitcaster makes that much easier.
  7. Hopefully this is the right place to post this. Just thought it was worth mentioning to everyone. Took my usual stroll through walmart fishing aisle this afternoon and saw a minn kota endurance cs 40 for 70$....so I bought it to upgrade from my enduea c2 30. Worth checking your local walmarts!
  8. I know this thread asks for one lure but I have two I can not live without. Either of these. 1. Yum money minnow or clone. (5") Reason being because I can fish it on a keel weighted hook as a swimbait, burn it as a topwater variety, throw it on an underspin or fish it like a Texas rig. 2. T-rig worm. Majority of bigger bass I catch are on this. I like an 8-10" ribbon tail.
  9. Yes I have a small boat and sonar. My question may seem to have an obvious answer (I know) but I'm just looking for extra little tips to help aid me in finding more. Thankyou for your tips!
  10. I'm in wichita kansas and primarily fish a 50 acre sandpit (oval shaped) and have had good luck the past month fishing shoreline structure but it seems the action is slowing down. The pits max depth is 22ft and the shore is maybe 15ft of shallow water (3ft) then rapidly drops to 20ft or so. Where would you guys look for the fish in a place like this besides the obvious shoreline?
  11. Love the pit boss! It works really well in the sandpits around here.
  12. Yes it would be worth it. In my opinion I would get a lews lfs speed spool. 80$ on ebay. Rod I would look at cabelas academy or bps house brand rods. Better bang for buck. Also the h20 express mettle was my first reel. It's worth a look also. Best 50$ reel I can think of
  13. What do you want to spend on the reel?
  14. Cabelas sale I think until memorial day. Only thing I saw worth buying was the quantum team kvd pt casting rods regarding 100$ on sale for $39.99
  15. So tempting. Could you do 15$? I gotta make some money to save up and buy a new reel...lol
  16. Wow looks like a good buy then. It feels so solid. I believe the frame and both side plates appear to be alum. It's very smooth since I cleaned and lubed it.
  17. Can anyone verify when this reel was made or released for sale? It's a quantum energy pt burner. E770pt. 7:1 Also does anyone have any comments or opinions as to if it's a very good reel or not? I picked it up at a garage sale for $10. The pictures are ones I found on Google images by the way. Just to help identify.
  18. I will give it a try next time I encounter that situation.
  19. Now you have me second guessing myself! Lol I have some thinking to do
  20. Ahh she's big that's all that matters lol
  21. I rarely get skunked. And if I do, I don't chalk it up to throwing the wrong color. I choose to agree to disagree.
  22. I don't really worry about color very much anymore. Mostly blacks blues and greens. Too much money spent trying to get multiple colors of the same bait, and I get bit just fine throwing whatever color I happen to have. Just my advice
  23. How heavy???
