  1. Thanks alot for your help. I have nobody to help me with tips etc. on boats, so it helps alot.
  2. Good eye. Didn't even notice the skeg. Looks kind of beaten up. I'll go check it out this weekend. Any thing crucial to check while viewing it in person?
  3. Hey anybody else have an opinion on this boat?
  4. That's what I'm thinking. Around 4500 to 5000 not a dollar more. Anything notorious on this year or model to look for? Novice here...
  5. Looking for a used first boat and came across this. Appears to be in good shape, haven't seen it in person yet. Good deal or too high? This will be my first boat and I need to stay around 5000$ https://wichita.craigslist.org/boa/d/1989-ranger-354v-150-mercury/6541881711.html
  6. Bought one. 7'1 medium heavy Weighed it against my 7' mh ethos micro Ethos micro-3.5 oz Xml is around 4.4 oz. Nice rod but it may go back. Not sure yet. Great action though
  7. Anybody got one of these rods, and an opinion on it? Looking to see what people think of them. They're on sale for 99$ right now, thinking of picking up the 7'1" spinnerbait rod for chatterbaits.
  8. Move till you find fish
  9. Toss up between cavitron buzzbait (color of choice for the day) and bandit 200 through rip rap and laydowns.
  10. I love hammering fish with a jig pitched to cover. I also like fishing cranks through wood.
  11. I caught the biggest bass of the tournament 2 weeks ago on a chatterbait, caught it bumping the bait through some thick timber. Unfortunately for me, I didn't enter big bass
  12. I use a curado g6 and a st croix rage 6'8" medium-xtra fast. Awesome setup for soft jerkbaits. I usually fish caffeine shads.
  13. Yeah these work, or the fish will hit them I should say. I had multiple strikes yesterday morning before work but I've not got the hook set down yet. Great bait for where a buzzbait won't run through.
  14. What rod and what price if u don't mind me asking? Looking for another rage 6'8" m/xf
  15. Awesome man. Do you know if the rod still has a warranty if it's sold as a trade in or been refurbished? I saw the used rod section on dobyns website and was thinking of going with one of the used dx704c's.
  16. What's ur take on the sensitivity aspect of the champ extremes?
  17. Look nice, heard good things about them. I really would consider it but have heard they can be tip heavy.
  18. Looking to get myself a higher end ($300 give or take) jig&worm rod. Needs to be 7' or less for primarily kayak usage. Want a sensitive rod for these duties, but want a tip that isn't so stiff that it's hard to accurately make spot casts and skip jigs. Mostly 3/8 jigs for moderate cover, nothing real heavy. 3/8 at the most texas rigs So far I'm looking at the following -jb custom 7' snake -dobyns extreme 704 Any other suggestions?
  19. Anybody from kansas or nearby fished this lake? Any "tips and tricks" ?
  20. These rods are legit. Comparable to the abu garcia veritas. In my opinion they are much better than a lightning rod, fish eagle etc.
  21. Just thought id drop in and let you all know, h20 xpress ethos rods are on clearance at academy. Awesome deals going on them. I just picked up a 7ft mh-mod. composite cranker, and a 7ft mh-f ethos micro for 24$ a piece. 48 total for a couple highly underrated rods. Go get em!
  22. Thanks! Another guy had mentioned the two to the north and to the northwest.
  23. Hey all, I have a trip planned for next march, to go down to the strip pits with the wife for a few days. Anyone got any recommendations as to which pits to fish? We'll be staying in a cabin on the trout lake, so of course we will fish it, but id also like a try a couple more. Thanks in advance to any help. James
  24. Lol that made me laugh. "Fight like old men" hahaha
  25. Had an average evening tonight on my local sandpit, totalling five fish. All but one came on the hudd 68 weedless. This bait is hands down the most productive for size and often numbers bait I have fished to date, can't praise it enough. Here is a pic of a 4 lber that was absolutely HANGRY for a hudd. Lol choked it down.
