  1. I saw video where KVD was asked this question. His response was, the reels he uses are supplied to him by Quantum and all of the parts are replaced and upgraded as he sees fit by his team. His rods are a trade secret.
  2. If you work at Gander Mountain, I would pick up the Curado I.
  3. On your list, I like the Loomis but I think I like the Avid better. I am not big on the Avid X though.
  4. I have both colors and they have been great for me. I also have one that is black with blue bottom, it is a great bait as well. As far as a swivel goes, don't use em.
  5. Gami 4/0 G-Lock or the Owner 4/0 Wide Gap Plus. Both are awesome.
  6. I yet to find an equal to the senko and I have tried several. The closest has been the yum dinger but I don't like the bait hook cut out on the top of the bait. BPS version is not too bad, along with Gander Mountains.
  7. When I started using a baitcaster, I struggled with right handed reels despite being right handed. I had used spinning gear that cranks with the left hand for so long that casting and cranking felt wrong. I went to a left handed baitcaster and the problem was solved. Moving forward that will probably be all I ever use.
  8. I have a thought. The last 5 phones I have owned have had all of my media, music, pics, and TEXTS transferred over when I bought a new one. Why wouldn't a married, popular, high profile athlete with 1000's of friends and business associates do the same thing? Also, why fire two equipment handlers, if "no one in the organization is guilty of any wrong doing"?
  9. I use mine for weightless senkos with 12lb Invisx.
  10. If you want to go with a Shimano I would save up a few bucks and pick up the new Curado or the Citica. The lews you picked is pretty solid as well. There have been several positive threads about it.
  11. Congrats on the job. That's some hard work ahead of you. Good luck.
  12. I checked out the jets nation forum and there are some good points that are brought up. I Won't link or post the comments here but anybody who has been following this should check it out. Also, after reading some of the comments on the forum, you jet fans are crazy but in a good way.
  13. Heading to GA Friday. I will be outside all day Saturday. I read there forecast and man I thought it was hot here in Indy.
  14. Nuff Said
  15. I guess will see if those classes he took at the Lance Armstrong School of Self Defense will pay off.
  16. I have some 15lb that is doing the same the thing. I have tried different knots but after a few casts the knot will snap.
  17. I would exchange it and try again. That reel has always received high praise. You might also clean and re-lube it. It seems that every new reel is either without oil and grease or it is overloaded.
  18. I have a few of the old Dardevle weedless spoons. I would get hits on them but they are a challenge when it comes to setting the hook.
  19. Reminds me of my old neighbor. He was one of the hardest working persons I have ever known. He had 3 manual labor jobs going at once and collected disability for years because of a previous car accident and surgery. He got busted and lost everything.
  20. "Cell phone, what cell phone?"
  21. I kind of did away with most of my old faithful stuff but I do have 2 reels that are now almost 8 years old. I have a Shimano Core that just keeps taking abuse. I also have a Shimano Calcutta 251A that will probably last my lifetime. It is just built like a tank.
  22. We are having this issue at work getting parts for customers. They order them next day/2day air from Japan and they are getting held up in California. The shipping costs are out of this world but it can be done. These customers are red hot though and all we can do is send them the tracking numbers but they think it is somehow our fault.
  23. For me I use (on baitcasters) 12lb FC for soft plastic, 50lb braid for flipping and punching, 10lb mono for crankbaits and 6lb FC or 6lb hybrid on spinning gear.
  24. I have tried them and they are OK. I prefer to use them with lizards. It sort of turns the head down. Out of the other Owner hooks, I like the Wide Gap Plus and Rig N Hook for things like Senkos and Ikas.
