  1. I have a ton and I will probably never be able to fish them all. I think the choices of soft plastic we have now a days just increases our fishing fun.
  2. I have a couple of great jackets for rain but on my last outing I got soaked. I decided to go all out and I bought an Arcteryx Beta AR. I also picked up an Atom LT for winter, a new Princeton rechargable head lamp (270 blinding lumens), and two Livingston lipless cranks. The Arcteryx jackets are amazing. I have always seen them but I couldn't bring myself to buy one. The quality of Beta AR is above and beyond anything I have ever owned. Its light and breathable. I just got it, so no major review yet. I can't wait for some colder temps and bad weather to give these guys a real test.
  3. The Shimano Crucial would get my vote.
  4. I have always called them egg sinkers. I use them for Carolina rigs and for catfish setups.
  5. The Rapala X-Raps. I caught nothing with them.
  6. I fished too many knock offs of the senko and there is no equal. With that said, I will not pay $7+ for a bag. I wait until DSG has them on sale, use a coupon and stock up. I usually end up paying about $3.50 to $4.00 a bag. At that price, they are worth it.
  7. If you can find one, Shimano has the Chronarch in a low geared lefty.
  8. I have it on one set up and it works just fine but I am using KVD line conditioner. Stuff does work. I haven't fished this line without it.
  9. The stock bearings are pretty good in this reel.. But based on the age, it couldn't hurt. I would check out boca bearings Abec 5 ceramics. I would also give this reel a complete cleaning and re-lubing as well.
  10. I use to fish with one of those. I would leave it alone. The low gear is great for cranks and fishing soft plastic when the bite is slow.
  11. One more video Stupid funny but it is real.....
  12. Here you go..... So much for the fly swatter.
  13. The zebco 33 one more time. It's classic that never gets old.
  14. 49Ers can't catch a break.... I heard this on the radio by some sports commentator on the way home from work. "It's official... The 49Ers have been infected by the Raiders."
  15. The silk screening is different for the blue and green rods. My guess is somebody at Loomis is color blind. It still should not have been missed, especially during the build process when the rod gets sorted to go out to get guides put on and possibly the wrap done. It then comes back with the guides done, gets sorted again, and goes to get the guides lined up. The logo matches the paper work that travels with the rod when it goes out. The wraps get rechecked. It then gets coated by hand (again should have been seen here). Then gets inspected and bagged (again should have been seen). Then finally stored in inventory by the logo, label and paper work. Every station uses the logo to pass in on to the next during the production process. If it is real, i am at a loss to how it happened.
  16. Great video. I basically fish the same way but I do fish like a jerk bait from time to time, going really slow though. My main set up is a x-fast 6'8'' MH rod with 12lb FC. To me, more than anything else when it comes to fishing a senko, is using FC. It just complements the bait and allows it do what the bait was meant to do.
  17. In Indiana, whenever I buy my license they give me two copies and I then make one more just in case. The conservation officers are checking for them and writing tickets faster than ever.
  18. Good stuff. I love the St. Croix Rods I have. I wish G. Loomis would follow suit. I love their rods as well but their service has been lacking over the past few years.
  19. FishTank replied to Rcfan7's topic in Fishing Tackle
Timber and light structure with a senko or a fat ika.
  20. I have been noticing the same thing. I have not been catching fish like I use to on crankbaits. Not sure what is going on but it just isn't as good as it was last year. Soft plastic has still been working well though.
  21. If I am bank fishing and to bring just about everything, I carry a back pack with several bags of soft plastic, 2 double sided plano boxes, a buzz bait and spinnerbait box, and a flacon jerk bait box. I also have a box with terminal tackle and few odds and ends. It can be heavy but I am use to it. If I am in my inflatable pontoon boat, like a kayak, space is limited. I take one box of cranks and hard baits and a BPS worm bag.
  22. Water and peanut butter crackers.
  23. John Mellancamp>It was about 1994 at the Bluebird in Bloomington, IN. It only holds a handful of people. He played, talked to everybody and just had fun. Kiss might be another one. It was the Psycho Circus Tour. They were awesome.
  24. My wife teaches and often I feel she is under appreciated by parents, students and well, the government. I thought this fit the bill to the irony that is teaching.
  25. I saw this a few days ago. It still is amazing he didn't hit somebody in the water. Somewhere Evel is going, "Why didn't I think of that"
