Sunline
I've noticed it. It's pretty cool. I wish other companies did this. It's hard to see on this line (Sniper BMS) but they still put it on there.

Quantum Smoke X 100
I have the original Smoke and a Tour S3 PT. Both have been great. If this new version is anything like the reels i have, it should be a winner. I would rethink the rod though. IMHO, the rod is most important part of the equation and should be your largest investment.

Defective Zillion, Japan Lure Shop No Reply
Weird. I placed an order with them and had a question about it. They responded the next day. What's wrong with the drag? Also, did you include your order number with your emails. I have noticed they are kind of clueless without it.

Eyeopening Trip to Bass Pro Shop
The Cabela's close to me has been selling boats non stop. Each time I have been there they are all marked sold. I don't know who is buying them but they have been moving. Also, when I went to the Indy Boat, Sport, and Travel Show, one vendor that had Ranger and Tracker boats had sold all his boats on the second to last day of the show except one. It was a 16 foot aluminum with a 40hp. I think it was around $18,000, which is just crazy to me for a souped up jon boat.

4 VS 8 Strand Braid When Tying FG Leader Knots...???
I use 8 Strand Varivas Dead or Alive with leader and don't have that issue. I also use an Albright knot but this on PE 1.5. It's pretty thin compared to most US lines. You would think a heavy line should have better knot strength. https://www.animatedknots.com/albright-knot

BFS backlash frustration
I have been fishing BFS for over a year now and still think I have a lot to learn but I think backlashes are just part of it... Not on every cast though. It seems you need ideal conditions to get the most out of each cast. I would also question the 8' rod. I find a 7' rod with a soft tip or shorter ideal depending on the situation. I also cast totally different than I do with a regular baitcaster with very little overhand casting. Here is one method that works for me. Here is another. I also do low roll casts a lot, especially when the wind is picking up. I would ditch the braid unless you are fishing totally shallow and go with 5-6lb fluorocarbon. My personal favorite is Sunline Invisible. It's tougher than it looks and casts well. I already posted this but this line brought in this chuby gal yesterday.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
I've been catching several 2-3lb largemouth so far this year but when I hooked this 22 inches of fun, I had to share. It was on BFS gear as well.

Double Duty Rod Question
G. Loomis IMX Pro Crankbait rods are a pretty good go between. I have the 903C and it works great for a 3/8oz chatter bait with a trailer but that maxes out this rod. It can throw anything a long way especially a squarbill but for a kayak the 845C maybe more practical.

Bass Fishing Memes ***PG ONLY***

Bps/diawa huk shirt giveaway
Looks like the one I just received. It took me two weeks from the time I sent the check to get it. I was amazed.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
They are both great. Two of my favorites.

Jig line
I have been using 14 and16lb Sniper BMS. Love this stuff. I don't use braid too often. Where I fish there are too many stumps to get snagged in but it's great around vegetation.

Knot For Big Swimbaits Using Thick and Heavy Line
I use the San Diego Jam knot. It works great for swimbaits. My only thing with it, is that you have to remember to pull the knot up then down to tighten it.

Asian fishing portal "handling fee"
I have noticed the fees showing up from them as well and their prices have increased. A long time ago they sent me an email explaining how they were a small business but were growing faster than they could handle and shipping was only done a few times a week. My last order arrived quickly. It makes me wonder if they are using a currier to pick up shipments and therefore the extra fee.

Do you pond hop with more than one combo?
It depends on how long I'm going to be out and where. If it's a short trip, I take one rod, a couple of soft plastics, and pliers but otherwise, two rods and my backpack.

MH Spinning Combo Users ?
I have been using a G. Loomis 803S NRX and a Shimano Vanquish 3000 for most of my mid range soft plastic, especially wacky rigged senkos. It works perfectly for just about any situation.

All new Daiwa Steez A II 100 Reel question
You should be good. I have really enjoyed mine so far. Casting anything in the half ounce range is amazing.

New Lews BB1 Pro bad sound?
I have the BB1 Pro and it does not make any of these sounds. It doesn't click when shaked and is quiet and smooth on the retrieve. It gets beat up pretty hard when fished. I think I would have noticed something over the course of the past year.

St Croix Mojo Bass Thrown Hooks
I see this a lot and I am guilty myself. So this just speculation on your specific scenario... Assuming your right handed, you set the hook somewhere between 2 and 3 o'clock on your right side, the hook is in the left side of the fishes mouth, the fish jumps, you lower your rod and it puts slack in the line, and then you turn the rod to your left between 9 and 10 fighting the fish. If you had stayed to your right, the hook should potentially be facing up. If turned to your left, the fish is no longer pinned and the hook is on the bottom. The fish shakes its head and the bait pops out. I hope I'm explaining this theory correctly. You see it more on a boat when the fish gets close and goes passed the angler when they reach down to lip it.

Alternative Spinnerbait Colors ?
It's more like my hand. That bait thumps like crazy but you're right, when fish hit this bait, they destroy it.

St Croix Mojo Bass Thrown Hooks
I would say it's the line but it's hard to be sure. Maybe try a leader with it before replacing it. Usually when people say they are losing fish where they have a hook set and they toss the bait on a jump, the angler has turned the fish/rod over. Instead of the fish being pinned, it's now in a position where it can just pull the hook out with a head shake.

Why is my rod not considered a cranking rod?
It definetly can be a personal thing. What they put on rods are just a guide line. It all depends on how the rod feels to you. For me, I wouldn't fish most rods that are listed as Fast for crankbaits. Just my personal preference but I do have a few I like for them. One in particular is the St. Croix Mojo Yak Med Fast. This rod is just softer all around. I also have a few Megabass rods that I can use for just about anything. They are listed as Medium Fast to Regular. Just curious, what rod was it?

Favorite drop shot lure?
KVD Dream Shot, Berkley Flat Worms and OSP Mylar Minnow. This will probably change depending on what they are biting on.

What is it? Looks like a magnum jig stuffed in side of craw tube.
