Trolling Battery
The starter battery is probably 5 years old…got it new a couple years before Covid so probably 2017ish and the trolling motor battery came with the boat when I bought it in 2016 and the guy i bought the boat from said the battery was pretty new (under a year old). These batteries haven’t gotten heavy use at all but I guess that doesn’t make much difference to the lifespan.

Trolling Battery
Here’s the situation, my trolling motor battery charges but fails the cranking test at Auto Zone. Since this is a battle solely used for the trolling motor would it be okay to use? They told me marine batteries only last/are warrantied for 1 year while regular auto batteries are warrantied for 5 years…is this true? Do all of you replace your boat batteries each year?

To U40 or Not To U40...that is the question
I ordered a small tub from TW. I've Googled it and it doesn't seem like a very hard process and the benefits seem to outweigh any diminished "fresh" cork look I think.

To U40 or Not To U40...that is the question
I just got my very first G. Loomis rod, an IMX PRO 844C. This is by far my best rod and my pride and joy, my question is should I use U40 on the cork handle or leave it all natural? I know some people use magic erasers to clean the handles if they get grimy looking so I’m not sure which way would be the best to go?

TW rarely ever gives more than 15% off. The biggest online tackle retailer in America and they usually have the smallest discount sales of the online retailers. It’s not hard to search on Google and find retailers that offer better sales!

13 Fishing Defy Black vs. 13 Fishing Fate Black Spinning Rod
Anybody with the Defy want to chime in? The most difference I can see is the Defy has the 24 ton blank while the Fate has the 30 ton.

13 Fishing Defy Black vs. 13 Fishing Fate Black Spinning Rod
Looking to get a large 7'6" Medium Light/Fast spinning rod for finesse small mouth fishing and have narrowed it down to these two particular models. They are both in the same price range of $70 - $80, the Fate is on sale while the Defy is regular price...just wondered if anybody had these two rods and which they thought was better for the money?

G. Loomis Dream Finally a Reality!!!
We’ll, I’ve always dreamed of owning a G. Loomis rod since I started bass fishing about 10 years ago but they’ve always been out of my price range, finally my dream became a reality. I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and I treated myself with birthday money collected and bought a G. Loomis IMX PRO 844c MBR. I can’t wait for this rod to arrive and for fishing season to begin (we live way up North in Vermont). I plan on putting my Shimano Chronarch MGL on it and using it as my do everything rod ?. It’s been a long time coming and I’m super excited!!!

Same as my local Walmart. They used to have great clearance sales about 4 years ago but now nothing and their selection almost never changes from year to year. They have some new stuff like Googan baits and this year they're selling Yamamoto Senko's but other than that I swear it's the same baits they've had for years! That being said, not all Walmart's are created equal, many carry different equipment/baits and some still do have good clearance sales, I went to another Walmart about 50 miles away and was able to pick up a Yum Mega Pack of their 5" Thumpin' Dingers which included 5 packs of 20 each in Green Pumpkin, Black w/Blue Fake, Watermelon Red Flake, June Bug and Red Shad colors and it was on clearance for $15.98 (normally $28.98).

Berkley Again
The fishing industry is a HUGE business, as such copies are bound to be made because people are running out of ways to be innovative without taking ideas from baits already in existence. I personally don't care if one company copies almost to a "T" another companies design...especially in the case of Berkley which copies but cuts the price almost in HALF! Look, I like Megabass but there's no arguing that most of their baits are very expensive for what they are and if Berkley can make a very similar bait and only charge us anglers half the price of Megabass I'm all for it. Maybe eventually this will give other companies who make expensive baits a reason to second guess their price points and they'll reduce their prices too in order to level the playing field and all of us anglers will benefit!!!

I ordered flipping, skipping and football jigs all in 1/2oz. as that's my preferred size. I didn't order the heavy cover or swim jigs.

I ordered a bunch of these jigs as well, everything except the swim jigs as I have plenty of those already. At $2.98 each these were just too good of a deal to pass up .

Ark Tharp 7’6” Offshore Mag MH or King Cobra Heavy
Which of these two rods would you get for frogging and some other duties such as pitching and flipping into heavy cover, the offshore mag, medium, heavy, or the heavy king cobra? Looking for people who actually have these rods with first-hand experience of them.

Best Big Worm Rod
What about a Shimano Intenza 7’4” Heavy/Fast? I can find one for under $100…would this be a good rod for the job?
-
Best Big Worm Rod
I know, another “best rod” post ?. I’m looking for a good rod around the $100 - $150 range for throwing 10”+ Texas rigged worms in heavier cover. I was thinking I’d need something at least 7’3” but more likely closer to 7’5” or 7’6”, Heavy power with Fast action.
