Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2017
Had an awesome trip to Mille lacs this week. We caught tons of fish. Only consistent pattern we had was drop shotting on the north end of the lake in 12-16 ft of water. We tried out pokegama for a day and caught a ton of fish there as well. Lots of 4lb smallies in the area. My buddy I was with caught a tagged one the was pretty cool to see. We reported it online. How common are tagged fish (smallmouth) in Mille lacs?

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2017
Thanks to everyone for the advice for my trip coming up in a little over a week to Mille Lacs. Yes I have my own boat and yes it has side imaging (hds9 gen3) it sounds like I'm fairly prepared for the trip based on the information. Smallmouth fishing isn't new to me, being that I grew up on Table Rock. That being said the vast open water will be new. Thanks again for the information and hopefully I can post some pictures of some footballs afterwards

Fished the Burtons Thursday night tournament on smithville last night. 52 boats showed up and the fishing was about how you would expect smithville to be. Had one of the 2 limits weighed in for 12.02. We lost one at the boat that was around 5lbs because I'm too good for a net ? (Not anymore). 12.74 won so it hurt that much worse. Ended up 2nd so it wasn't terrible. Took 6th last week so I'm feeling good about my points standings but just hoping to stay consistent and fish clean next week- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Shoot me a pm and I can meet you up there some time and you can follow me up if you want to lay down a track- Garmin Striker 7sv wont pick up depth
Not a bad transducer or bad placement. Any side imaging or down imaging transducer will lose bottom contact around 8-10mph. If you want to see depth while you're running you will need a y cable and run a high speed (2d sonar) transducer along with the side imaging one.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
That lake will beat you down and frustrate the heck out of you. It fishes small. this is my first year fishing the Thursday night tournaments as a boater and it's very humbling. Don't over think anything out there. The fish will be in the obvious spots. I just snuck into the money (6th place out of 50) last week with 3 fish for 7.80. The tournament runs 6pm-9pm and I only had one fish until 8:30. I can't give up any secrets because I don't have any. The branch side is usually cleaner water than the little platte. If you know how to run north of the bridges I'd start looking around up there.- Transducer location, in hull or not?
If you mount the transducer in the hull you will not be able to use the downscan on your unit. Only 2D sonar will shoot through the hull. There are a few mounting options out there that would allow you to mount the transducer externally and be able to remove it for storage. Look into Scotty and ram mount for some of those. Hook1 has a lot of that stuff. Mounting it in the hull is the safest place to not damage it while on the water but if you want to use all the capabilities of your unit you won't be able to. (The transducer in that video is a humminbird 2D sonar transducer)- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
So I've got a few reels I'd like to sell and I'd rather sell them local. I figured I'd give this a shot here before I posted on the flea market thread. First one is an Abu Garcia MGXtreme2 8.0:1 RH. I got it with intentions of building a BFS combo and realized that's what spinning stuff is for. I switched out the cork grips with the EVA foam and spooled it with 12lb sunline reaction FC. It's been casted a couple times then I put it back in the box. $325 Second is a RH Shimano Curado 200iHG. Brand new in the box. I got it last week as a gift for helping out a coworker and I just really want something different. $120 Next is an abu Garcia 5601 (lefty) ssc3 ambassador. I used it on a swimbait setup and have upgraded. It's a great swimbait reel for someone just getting into the swimbait game. $55 Last is a Lews Tournament Pro 7.1:1 RH. The reel is in good condition. I took the carbon fiber handle off to put on another reel so it has a daiwa handle on it now. This is the previous model tourney pro and has been used for a couple of seasons but always taken care of. $85 If this is not allowed then remove post and I will post in flea market thread. PM me and I can send pictures. Again I would really like to sell local and not have to ship- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Went back to the "mill" Sunday and had a few solid bites on a finesse jig and a megabass 110. The fish on the left in the picture had a craw coming out her bung hole after I tossed her in the livewell. All fish were released alive and well pay no attention to the audio on the video ? So I broke a fenwick eagle gt crappie rod a couple months ago and sent it in for the warranty. Long story short is they lost the rod and sent me a brand new hmx to replace it so that's pretty neat. Also being polite with customer service goes a long way even when you're irritated... it got me a brand new upgraded crappie rod.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports

I'm not but I should be. Someone should be looking for a killer deal on a couple 898's- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
That's what my deal is. I even have the transducer shield on it but oh well. Trying to sell my unit because I upgraded and am no longer running si on the trolling motor. Nobody wants to buy a unit with a busted transducer- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Anyone have a humminbird HDSI transducer (in normal working condition) they want to get rid of.- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
A little conservation lake (100 acres) between excelsior springs and Kearney. I don't like to disclose my honey holes. Its a state park so I'm sure many of the people on here know where I'm talking about- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports

Got out this past weekend and hit a flurry of good ones on a point next to a channel swing. Caught 5 in a matter of 25 minutes that went for 22lbs. Had a 5 and a 7.5 three casts apart. Everything came on the megabass vision 110 in ito natural- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
