Bass in Pittsburgh NH ?
I have also heard of bass in Back (and forth) Lake. In fact, if you tell folks you intend to keep all the bass you catch you may hear of a honey hole or two. A lot of the guys up there I talk to during snowmobiling season want the bass gone because they are very protective of the trout up there.

Fishing Etiquette
To me, that's bad etiquette too. In a non-tournament situation I would have a problem with that, and wouldn't dream of doing that to someone else. However, I can see how in a tournament things are different.

What's your #1 hardbait for smallies?
Wiggle wart or Mud Bug

What Should Be My Next Top Water Lure?
I've had good luck over the years taking paint off of plastic lures with nail polish remover(acetone). Very clear water where I live.

College Football
I have a feeling that your boys are going to get some payback against Ole Miss this year. I hope my Buckeyes do the same against Michigan State so that we can get a Bama/tOSU rematch.

What Should Be My Next Top Water Lure?
Heddon Baby Torpedo is my favorite smallmouth topwater.

Jig Trailers
I use pork rinds or a Guido bug-both of which I believe are discontinued. Third choice is the Strike King 3x jig trailers, they are also quite durable and the claws float.

What's your fishing glasses preference?
I have a ten year old pair of Oakley Monster Dogs, that have survived being knocked off my head at least 200 times when I was still coaching football. They are great for those of us with pumpkin heads, and are great for fishing. They cost me $155, but I wear them almost every day.

Worst Fishing Etiquette You've Encountered?
Most of my issues are boat ramp related. In NH we don't have many nice ramps, and when people park so close to the ramp that I can't get my boat in or out I fume. Most of the time it's (non fishing) kayakers who are too lazy to park their Subaru 30 feet away after they put their kayak on the ramp.

A Letter from The Department of Fish and Wildlife
Yes, indeed. I live right on the border-near Athol/Orange. I feel bad for those of you in Western Mass. You really get hammered with taxes and laws compared to NH.

When will I learn I'm not in my 20s anymore?
I'm 39, played a lot of football in my younger days, and I still paid for it until recently. I started doing DDP Yoga less than a year ago and I feel fantastic. (DDP is a former pro wrestler, the whole program is designed for people who deal with pain)

How to fish a Wacky Rig on a Baitcaster?
Sometimes letting a little more line out before the cast is helpful.

Summertime carry
Mine is a P64, 9X18. I like it better than the .380s that I have seen. I can use that ammo in my Bulgarian Makarov, which is convenient. I just toss it in my pocket-I wear a suit everyday.

Burger King's New WHOPPERITO
I find the name funny, since "-ito" means little or diminutive. It sounds like a Spanish Whopper Jr.

Hook keeper or reel?
With my baitcasters, always on the reel. It keeps the hook point out of harm's way, and most of my rods don't have keepers anyway.

Thinking of a new boat
I have a Tracker, by the way-but I got a screaming deal on it, and it is exactly what I want for New Hampshire....however, every time Bass Pro has a boat sale its value is less.

shakey head fishing
I think he meant closing the bail with your hand, rather than turning the reel's handle to force the bail to close.

Credit Card
That's how you know I'm not a native New Englander...I do like the new dark roast though. I actually included that because I know a guy who always complains that he "never has any money", but has to make two DD runs a day. What is that, like 25-30 bucks a week?

Credit Card
Is there a time frame at which you'd need a better credit score? Do you need to put a lot of purchases on the card-(low cash flow)? If not, I'd advise you to use the card only for gas and groceries and pay it off in full every month. Don't use it for discretionary purchases, like Dunkin Donuts, going out to eat, fishing equipment, etc. Those are the purchases that will get away from you if you aren't disciplined. Your credit score will go up and you will have the card working for you-not the other way around.

Shoulder pains
Go and see a sports/medical massage therapist. A good massage can diagnose and treat your issues and is money well spent. Mine is 50/hr for deep tissue, and it is amazing.

How much do you spend on tackle?
Less than $100 a year-I really only restock line and terminal tackle these days. I may grab a rod and reel using rewards points, or pick up a new jig or worm mold, but that's about it. I'm 39 and could probably get away with never buying another bait for the rest of my life.

Boat shoes
Crocs here, too. A lot of old ramps up here that require you to get into the water to load your boat.

Thinking of a new boat
Lund makes top quality boats, and are easy to resell later.
