  1. Not Jig Man but I prefer the Midwest Finesse jig from a Do-it mold. I'm sure lots of guys sell them on Ebay. I make mine out of bismuth/tin to be legal in my state, plus they are lighter than lead, which I like for this application. My favorite hook is the Eagle claw Lil Nasty-sharp and light wire, which is what I want with 6-8 lb line. Here's what I'm talking about.
  2. I'll never be without my oil. My feet and ankles no longer hurt-they are beat up from a lifetime of football and basketball (and being 250+). The gummies work, as does the oil. I feel like the oil works faster. Like you, I sleep better. I also feel less anxiety. It took about a week for results, but I notice if I forget and skip a day. I have two family members who are also on CBD daily and they are as happy as I am.
  3. For my Ned rod I use 20 lb braid to 8lb fluoro. I have used 30 lb braid to 8 as well, can't tell a lot of difference.
  4. I'm torn, I'm a HS teacher/football coach. My vacation is nearly over, and my only chance to fish is on Sundays in the fall. (This Buckeye doesn't watch the NFL until December)
  5. I start off by purchasing two or three, if I like the style then I buy the mold and make my own.
  6. Similar to Todd2, I've thrown them for crappie and end up catching some bass.
  7. Strike King Bitsy Bug is worth looking at. They are cheap and I've caught a lot of fish on them over the years.

They still catch fish, I use them with Mann's Auger tail worms all the time. In the 80s they were all the rage.
  9. I have an older reel in .y boat at a times-a Pflueger Supreme 5.1:1. I probably bought it from 98-02. It's my cranking reel, and is surprisingly smooth for a reel with that many miles on it. That being said, a 75 dollar Fuego from 2017 makes it seem heavy and awkward. The true question is will my Fuego still perform flawlessly in 20 years?
  10. I've yet to lose a fish while switching hands with my baitcaster. ? Serious answer, I've yet to catch two bass on one crankbait.
  11. I prefer to fish with my father, followed by my uncle. They are both approaching 80, so it's a gift.
  12. I still carry a 5'6" Bass Pro Boron rod in the trunk of my car. It's the rod I learned to throw a baitcaster with, way back in 1988. With a modern reel, it is pretty good at tossing small cranks.
  13. If you take care of it, it will be worth 1500 dollars for many years. Go for it.
  14. That's a crappie.
  15. If I were doing this I would take 1/2 the mono off of your other reel and spool it to your new one as backing. Next, put braid on one, new mono on the other. I've used 10-30 lb braid, it all works fine. Power pro is also my favorite.
  16. Now with a shot of Pam to make the mold less porous.
  17. Sometimes it's the right tool for the job, other times it isn't.
  18. Fluke or Super Fluke? For Super Flukes I use a MH/F 6'6" or 7'. Any baitcaster is fine, but I never go below 17 lb line if I'm using mono (which I do until the pads and grass really fill in-then I use braid). Light mono can make a curl right in front of the bait which will result in lost fish. 17 and up stays straight.
  19. Here's what I ended up with, all poured with used baits, mostly Yamamoto and Snack Daddy tubes.
  20. Mine must be close to 20 years old!
  21. I'm another guy who bought a bad spool. I was shocked when I first came to this site and saw all of the love for it.
  22. I picked up a couple of Daiwa crossfire 2500s on Ebay for $25. I've been very impressed so far.
  23. 95 F250- the 8 foot bed is nice with 7' plus rods. It is a weekend only vehicle, I daily drive a boring sedan that gets 42 mph. I drive about 20K a year, so I'm better off getting good mileage. When I fish with my father, we drive his 2011 F150 EcoBoost.
  24. Another jig maker (and another Brad) here-I use Barlow's and Ebay.
  25. I started pouring Arky and bullet jigs in the late 90s because I couldn't find high end jigs in New Hampshire.
