How much do you spend on tackle?

Recommended Posts

When I say tackle I mean hooks, weights, boxes, bags, plastics, hard baits, and everything tackle wise. Wondering how much you guys spend monthly and yearly. I would say I spend anywhere between $25-$50 a month. I use lots of senkos. How much do you guys spend?

Very clever bassmaster...or should I say... MRS. KYHOKIE!!! I think this is someone's wife that has infiltrated our secret club, trying to garner information, I'm sure. Lol, this could def be used in a court of law so I plead the fifth.

100-300 a year depending on what is going on with the family. It has taken me a while, but I really have all the tackle I need. Yearly now I restock what I depleted and add a few new things to try. Can't wait till the kiddo gets out of college, life will get much easier lol. I really need some new spinning reels, I have gotten almost 7 years out of a couple of shakesphere excursions, not sure how much longer then will last, but for mid 20 buck reels they have been rock stars.

I do really try to shop sales a lot and my in laws get me fishing gear for Christmas too.

Overall it has to be at least $5k. I have at least 60lbs worth of plastics.

Glide baits are on the menu this year and they aren't cheap.

As much as i can get away with. I always try to make it sound like an "investment" to the wife, but I'm scared she may be catching on

For me it's probably < $10 per month.   As the kids get older my life is consumed with youth sports.  Wouldn't change it for the world.

I've been burning through soft baits lately so probably around 30-40$ on plastics and trying new hard baits.

It depends on who you ask, I don't think I spend enough but my bank statements say otherwise haha. I try to restock when what I use is on sale. I think I tend to do alright during the summer months, but over the winter when I can't fish I'm always thinking about fishing and browsing tackle websites and whatnot so I end up pulling the trigger more often.

Less than $100 a year-I really only restock line and terminal tackle these days. I may grab a rod and reel using rewards points, or pick up a new jig or worm mold, but that's about it. I'm 39 and could probably get away with never buying another bait for the rest of my life.

I spend what I spend.  I...like most.....work very hard for my living.  I provide a roof over the head of my family and everything else they need.  I've never bought fishing gear when I had other priorities.   I have no other hobbies and I don't drink.  Even with all that, it's probably still less than $1000 a year.  I don't hide anything from my wife because I don't have to....nor would I live a life that would require me to hide anything like that.

About 6,200 the last 3.5 years. But I sold the boat and tackle in 2001 and started over again 3.5 years ago. Add a used boat over 12,000 the last 3.5 years.

i like to bargain shop, so it's less than it could be, but probably more than it should be!

I would say I spend $200-300 on tackle exclusively each month. More in the winter. I rarely need anything but I stock up on sales and am always looking for the next hot lure. Despite two boats and a garage of tackle, I still use a handful of lures  99$ of the time- Watermelon creme 5" GYCB seiko, green pumpkin TRD, green pumpkin Crazy Chigger craw, keithech EZ shiner, and a Zoom Old Monster Black Trick Worm. I told the misses this last night and she was beyond angry because when TRDS first came out they were no where to be found, she was on a business trip and there was a BPS so I had her clean out the TRDs, every color. She is wondering why I "needed" all those colors. I told her same reason she "needs" all her different pairs of shoes. Conversation over.

At least $150/month on gas and replacing lures. I lose a lot of crankbaits to musky and pike sadly. Good thing Im not married or have kids so I can spend as much money on fishing, traveling, and beer as I want!

I'm fairly certain that in the past 12 months or so I've set a new Personal Best in the cash out area.

One that I will not be eclipsing any time soon.
