  1. Thanks for the report @Davecon.Snook is one of my favorite fish to catch and pound for pound one of the strongest inshore fish.
  2. Nice Smallmouth Bass!
  3. That person who put the concrete statue in the water to scare fishermen away is very clever!
  4. This question is subjective and depends on personal preferences. With that said my favorite brands of hooks are the following; 1.Gamakatsu 2.Owner 3.Eagle Claw 4.Mustad These brands make excellent hooks for both Saltwater and Freshwater fishing.
  5. X2 what @LiftedSquare13 said. The C-14 is a great canal to fish for Largemouth Bass,Peacock Bass,Snakehead, and other exotic fish. You should do great if you choose to fish here.
  6. Those $1 Walmart Spinnerbaits are much better than what most people give them credit for.I have caught lots of decent sized bass on them. You can buy a couple of them and have them as backup Spinnerbaits for when you lose the expensive ones.
  7. I agree with you Dave that older, experienced trophy bass fishermen are more talented than the ones now. They caught much more trophy bass with significantly less technology at their disposal.I am fortunate to have been taught by my friend who has caught well over 50 bass over 10 pounds in South Florida and set the record in my favorite lake(his bass was almost 15 pounds).I still fish that lake to this day.
  8. We will never know if it weighed 19.2 pounds or not since he released it without having it officially measured. It appears to be thick all along its length, not just fat in one spot like most spawning bass. One thing is certain, that Bass is definitely Hall of fame quality for the Trophy Catch program
  9. Looks like someone caught and released a 19 pound bass in Lake Kissimmee earlier this year in July! http://www.***/outdoors/***/story/1567512-potential-florida-state-record-bass-caught
  10. Yes if you keep fishing the same pond often with the same lures you are pressuring the pond.Bass aren't dumb, they learn, adapt, and start avoiding lures, especially if they see the same lures over and over again.I strongly recommend changing tactics until you find what makes them bite.

    Congrats on your new PB!
  12. If it's only you and your friend fishing the pond then it won't matter much what lure you use and the bass should be very easy to catch.
  13. I have kept freshwater and saltwater aquariums for a while now and currently have saltwater tanks. When I had freshwater aquariums I kept mostly Cichilds since they are very colorful and active fish.
  14. Try fishing at night with Wakebaits and other Topwater lures. Sometimes those big bass wont hit during the day since the bass are use to seeing lures at that time, but during the night they are less pressured and its harder for them to spot out the details of your lure.
  15. Congrats on catching a Trophy sized Channel Catfish! Love catching them in the lakes around my area.
  16. Either someone in that area is playing a prank on everyone else or you found a new species.
  17. Congrats on catching a huge Pike!
  18. At least 4 pounds maybe 5 pounds.
  19. Trophy Bass: An Angler's Guide Written by Larry Larsen This book is pure gold with the knowledge of a man who has caught well over 100 Largemouth Bass over 10 pounds and several Peacock Bass over 20 pounds.
  20. I might visit my family in Lakeland in January/February.If I do I will PM you.Have been fishing mostly in Saltwater for bigger Gamefish but still Bass fish when I don't have time to go to the Ocean.Have caught several bass in the 6 to +8 pound range in the past couple months.Hopefully I get another 8-10 pounder by the end of the year.I have land based spots where I catch well over 100 bass a day anywhere from 1-8 pounds, with a average of 2-3 pounds, but it only happens on certain months of the year.Hoping for the temperature to cool down a bit more for the big bass to start moving and feeding more in my area.
  21. Have seen similar spots on the Largemouth Bass I catch. They all appear healthy with no deformities.
  22. Eric how is the bass fishing up there in terms of numbers of bass from the bank? Any days of +100 bass?
  23. This article describes what spillways are, which ones to fish in West Palm Beach, and some techniques to use. http://www.gameandfishmag.com/fishing/fishing_saltwater-fishing_fl_aa091004a/ There's big Bass in these spillways especially the spillways that are more Freshwater than Saltwater.
  24. All the spillways in West Palm Beach have great potential for big Bass and big Snook. Concentrate on the ones where the water is flowing.
  25. The spillways in West Palm Beach have big Largemouth Bass along with big Snook.
