Very impressive Eric, especially since you catch most of your double digit bass from shore. Central Florida definitely has more +10lbs bass than here in South Florida. I have caught a couple +10 pound bass from shore down here, but no where near the amounts of 6-8 pounders I have caught. Looking towards for your future reports!

Its impressive how small bass bite lures larger than they are. They also bite minnows on a size 10 hook.

I fish both types of waters and both have their own advantages and disadvantages. Private lakes usually have bigger bass( in South Florida), but you first need to get permission to fish them. I have done this and release all bass and pick up trash so I can continue having the invitation to fish these lakes. Public Lakes seem to have more bass, so you can catch more in a day(in South Florida), but you have to experiment more with different lures and retrieves since these bass are highly pressured by fishermen. Other variables need to be taken into consideration as well such as water temperature and water level which affects all lakes regardless if its a public or private lake.

I buy in Wal-Mart when it has the exact tackle I want and it is usually cheaper than Bass Pro Shops. If Wal-Mart doesn't have what I want I go to Bass Pro Shops and purchase it there.

Use Finesse techniques on those bass

I reel with my right hand and hold the fishing rod with the left most of the time.

The fishing has been spectacular this Summer, you just have to fish when the Sun isn't out so strong.Many bass that don't bite during the day in the Summer will bite during periods of low light-sunrise,sunset, nighttime, and overcast days.Don't be surprise if the amount and size of your bass increase if you fish during these times.

Largemouth Bass caught in deeper depths seem to fight harder than a equal sized bass caught in shallower depths. Peacock Bass fight much harder pound for pound than a equal sized Largemouth Bass, regardless of depth of water.

I clean my hands with water after using bug spray. Doesn't seem to affect my bass fishing one bit.

Have caught 2 bass on one lure several times before, especially when they are schooling. Have caught 3 bass at the same time on one lure a couple times.

Lots of good bass in Sunrise. Try fishing the middle river canal and the lakes closer to the west.

This is great advice! have been knowing about this for a couple years and since then I disable the GPS coordinates on my phone so all my pictures have no location on them.I also don't send pictures anymore, except to my fishing partner.

Thanks for the update.Don't let the experience of your buddy sour you for inviting others to go fishing. Do what I do and only invite friends to places that aren't your favorite spots but good enough where both of you should have a decent time. Also,try to invite friends that you have known for at least a couple years and have proven themselves to be reliable.

Fish any canal in Kendall/Homestead region and you will have a good chance of catching many different species of exotics.

Have been doing well by fishing on days that there is heavy rain, especially the first 20-30 minutes after a big storm. Frogs fished over heavy cover and creature lures fished deep are some of the techniques that are working for me. I took pictures of all the 5 pound or bigger bass I have caught these past 2 months.

This Summer has been one of the best Summers for me for bass fishing in a long time. I have caught over 100 bass with the biggest one over 8 pounds in the past 2 months. I caught all the bass from shore and all where released.

I have personally seen large bass swallow baby ducks whole so I am certain that a baby duck crankbait/topwater will be a good lure to make.

The Everglades is one of my main bass fishing spots as well. Its one of the few places in South Florida where you can consistently catch big bass from shore.

I love to fish for Bowfin and do not consider them ''trashfish''. The big ones fight harder pound for pound than big largemouth bass of equal size. Best thing about Bowfin is that they usually are always biting regardless of the conditions.
