Kistler Magnesium Crankbait Rod
I wanted to pull the trigger on their 7' MH so bad because they're giving them away over at TW, but with Kistler's Black Friday sale I just couldn't turn down an KLX for another $40. From all the reviews and comparisons I've read its a great rod which developed a large entry-level following. Besides the price, the only reason I chose the KLX is due to the warranty factor. I've heard mixed reviews about Kistler's customer service (but we know only the loudest, most unhappy customers post their grievances online) so I wanted to go with a rod that would have a ready replacement. With the first generation Mag TS's no longer in production I figured it might be a headache to deal with a warranty claim. I honestly think you will be happy with either. If you have experience with composite blanks and like them then the Medium will be great, if not a MH graphite will do just fine. Let us know what you end up with, but get one before they're gone!

Kistler
I'm still waiting for a response from Kistler. My OCD meter will be overloaded when throwing cranks with a Blade, Buzz, Chatter rod. Thanks though man, you've helped me out a ton over these last few weeks.

Kistler
I shot them an email today but still waiting for a response. I have a hard time seeing what could possibly be different about them.

Kistler
darn, no Crank Rip Twitch variants on sale. I was really banking on that.. Does anyone know how similar the 7' MH/MF Buzz, Spinner, Chatter rods is? Seems like all the specs are the same except the minimum line weight is 12lb instead of the CRT's 10. I use 12lb anyway. I'm bummed.

Need Help Choosing A Cranking Rod
I am also very curious about the **** ***** 2 (7'). I was told in an email today from their customer service that it is a 24ton/T-Glass blend. I have no idea what to expect from it but I do like the idea of full cork grips. It's on my list with the Fury 705cb and Magnesium TS. I hope someone who has experience with the rod mentioned above can chime in because I can't find anything in regards to it's performance.

Crankbait Rod Arsenal
I think I'm going to go with the Dobyns.. with Kistler doing away with the Mag TS I can't imagine the warranty would be all that great. As a kayak angler, low weight and short(er) length is a big deal for me and a graphite 705cb will most likely be the best match. Can anyone else provide any input?

Crankbait Rod Arsenal
Next spring will be my first dedicated go with crankbaits. I just always overlooked them.. Dobyns Fury 705CB which has great reviews and can handle baits up to an ounce which is great for what I'm looking to do, as far as square bills to 5xds. The Kistler Mag TS is a great price right now. The facelifted Mojo from St Croix would seem suitable in the 7'4" variant. I just have no idea what to get. No idea.

Do you think the 6'10" would be able to handle a couple 5xd's and Little John Baby DDs?

Crankbait Rod Arsenal
I'm trying to find a good all around cranking rod for square bills and md divers up to 10'. I'm really not trying to be over 7' and I'd like to try a glass rod. I see that the Mojo Bass has gotten a revamp for 2016 and I'm wondering if anyone has tried the 6'10" variant. Blue is your Big Crankster the new redesign? If there are any other M/M Glass rods worth trying in and around $120 shout em out!

Lipless Crank And Weight Determination
The Lucky Craft LVR Mini is on sale at Cabela's site for $5-6. I picked up a Matte Pumpkin 1/4oz and the detail and finish is incredible. In the past I've used the Booyah 1/2oz one knocker and YoZuri 3db Vibe.. they're both great too.

I don't know what weight parameters you have, but I like my Skeet Reese Mini MRs. They're a 1/4oz and the blue gill pattern is high quality.

Kayak Fishing Rod Selection
I try to keep it short 6'6" Falcon Bucoo MH - Lews Tournament Pro 7.1-1 strung with 50lb braid for jigs, frogs and soft plastics 6'6" Fenwick Silverhawk M - Lews Tournament 6.4-1 strung with 12lb mono for deep/square bill cranks, topwater spooks and poppers, jerkbaits and spinners. For the extremely light stuff from 1/16 to 5/16oz I used a 6' M BPS tournament rod/reel spinning combo. Usually only use it with light floating rapalas and small xraps. Hope this helps..
