I have a love hate relationship with them. I've owned a couple MK1 rabbits and some of the later junk. Just totaled my 08. Couldn't be happier.

Picked up a 2500 Sahara and some 10lb Big Game for my busted/neglected St. Croix Triumph. Just waiting on some replacement Fuji guides from MH then hopefully I'll have myself a decent little jerkbait set up.

I use a 6'6" Medium Fast spinning rod with 8lb flouro on a 2500 reel.

Sounds like a 7' MHF would cover what you'd like to do. You can do a little bit of everything with it. I'm a big fan of St. Croix and hear nothing but good things about the new Mojo Bass rod. Always some good deals going on in the flea market for reels too. Something 6:3:1 would probably be best. I've only used Shimano but there are a bunch of other quality reels out there too.

I love my 6'6" MF G. Loomis E6X. Super light and sensitive. Think they go for $180.

I really want a G. Loomis Bronzeback Or a custom smallie spinning rod.

Beer is my approach.

I fish them spring, summer, and fall. I throw them early in the morning and late evening.

I'm in Northern VA. A lot of cool floats you can do on the Upper Potomac and the Shenandoah. Lots of good smallmouth fishing. Bunch of good largemouth fishing right outside of DC. We got 2' of snow a couple weeks ago but most of it has melted. Couldn't tell you what the conditions are like currently as I haven't been out but I know a few on this forum have been out pretty recently. I plan on checking out some sections of the Potomac this weekend.

Keep seeing you mention this stuff. Been wanting to switch out my Invizx. Gonna pick up some #12 this weekend to try out. They should cut you a check.

No big speakers or anything but sometimes I'll play something on my phone while I'm paddling to my next spot. Not loud at all.
