I use my 6'8" MXF Mojo Bass for both..mainly flukes though. Pair it with a 2500 Stradic FJ (unless you prefer bc gear).

I'd have a MLXF spinning rod, a MF spinning rod, and a MHF casting rod.

I use 10# braid with an 8# flouro lead.

I shake like a d**n leaf. Usually need a couple minutes to calm myself down after I release the fish. If I'm fishing solo and nail a good one I can barely even take the picture, there is an iPhone 6 somewhere on the Upper Potomac because of it. Love it.

Maybe consider a MHF St. Croix Avid. Great rod for what you'd want to use it for and an awesome warranty to go with it. Think they go for about the same as the E6X.

Just got my 6'9" MLXF Avid and Shimano Stradic 2500. Probably my new favorite combo..lot of fun to fish.

I like the weightless Trokar swimbait hooks

I use the 4/0 Trokar swimbait hooks on my 3.8" swing impact fats.Not the fattest but one of my PB smallies here in Virginia. 19.5". Caught mid January on a green pumpkin coffee tube at Great Falls. Biggest LMB was 7.13 but no picture of that one unfortunately. iPhone decided to take a swim earlier that morning.
