  1. You cpuld also check out the BPS extreme 360 backpack, it is around $30. I have one and I really like it!
  2. You could pick up a abu garcia silver max for around $40 to test out baitcasters. I did this last year, it took me about 3 days of practice before getting the hang of it. Only problem now is that I have added 4 other baitcasters to my lineup in less than a year.
  3. I throw jigs, chatterbaits and spinnerbaits usually.
  4. It depends on what waters you are fishing also. Do they allow outboards or are they electric only? How big is your water? A 800 acre resorvoir or 60000 acre lake with a lot of pleasure boaters to make a lot of waves? Also what are you looking for in this boat? Do you want it very stable? How much gear do you have or want to take, a jon boat can hold more gear than a kayak and generally they are more stable than a kayak also.
  5. I rarely if ever throw deep cranks. I prefer using other baits and have no confidence in deep divers, so I throw other lures.
  6. I recommend a *** black. I have a 7'1" m/h and it is a great rod. I can throw a little bit of everything with it, but right now it is serving as my jig rod because I have one tied on 100% of the time.
  7. 1. Casting jig 2. Swim jig 3. Chatterbait/bladed jig 4. Texas rigged creature bait 5. Shakey Head
  8. I tie a palomar knot for everything. Granted 99%of the time on all my setups (besides flipping/pitching) I have co-polymer spooled up.
  9. I have been waiting several weeks to purchase a new rod and reel but couldn't knowing this sale was going on. Oh well, gives me an excuse to stock up on some baits as I will have to if they are on sale!?
  10. Ok, Thank you, do you know if they are available for purchase online?
  11. Where do you buy the pb&j craw, I have looked several places but can't seem to find them. Thanks!

Does anyone know what the difference is between the 3 different types of the Netbait Craws is? Like action and which one is better at what? Thanks!
  13. I was wondering if you all thought there was a difference between junebug and black/blue jigs performance wise. Also which do you prefer? Finally what trailers do you use on them? Thanks!

Just wondering what color jigs everyone uses. I want to know what you use in stained-muddy water and an all around jig color. Also throw in the type and color of trailer you use. My one question is do you think junebug would work anywhre black or blue would? Thanks! Also sorry for the double post.
  15. Id go with the speed spool as they have an aluminum frame while the caenan has a graphite.
  16. Ok, im thinking of putting a black/blue trailer on a pb&j jig in dirty water, and a green pumpkin or other natural trailer on a pb&j jig in clearer water? Think this would work?

Ok so I am getting some new jigs in pb&j and was wondering if you all think that using dark trailer in dirty water and natural trailers in clearer water would work? So that way I only have 1 jig tied on but it covers all situations with the change of a trailer. Also is there really a difference between a Berkley Havoc Pit boss and something like the Netbait B bug or strike king rodent? Thanks!

I am going to be picking up some new jigs, what would you all suggest as the best color for al/most situations and the most color that would resemble a bluegill? jigs im going to purchase- http://www.***.com/All_Terrain_Tackle_Rattling_AT_Jig/descpage-ATTATJ.html Thanks!
  19. I would also say Red Label, when I first started fishing flouro I picked up some Red Label at Wally World to test it out, I mean it is no Tatsu or even Sniper but it does a really good job for its price.
  20. If you can go to 160 for the baitcaster setups, I would find lews speed spools for $80 on Ebay, and then get no.*** blackout rods for $80 as well.
  21. I would suggest looking to join some of the FLW tours either as a boater or nonboater depending on your situation. Once you start doing good in those you will work your way up.
  22. For one all around rod I would go with a medium heavy/fast action, I use to fish this and caught fish with squarebills, lipless, jigs, texas rigs and more.
  23. Thanks for the information so far guys! I also found xpressboats Jon boats, anyone know anything about them? Also should I get a bow or transom mount for my trolling motor if I get a 15-20 HP outboard?
  24. Hi, I am going to be getting my first boat and I have decided to get a 16ft Jon boat. The 2 I have in mind are the Tracker Topper 1542 LW or the Lund 1648, my question is what size and type motor should I get? A trolling motor or an outboard for my main engine? I will be fishing a 784 acre reservoir, occasionally a 60000 acre lake and also some smaller 1-3 acre resorvoirs. tracker- http://m.trackerboats.com/#boats_scr_detail?boat=3687 Lund- http://www.lundboats.com/boat-models/1648-jon/#specs Thanks, I am also open to other boat options!
  25. I would pick up a lews speed spool LFS right at $100, I have 2 of them and they are great reels for $100.
