  1. What price range are you looking at, if you can afford a rod in about the $100 range, the Fenwick Aetos is on sale right now for $95, I would suggest looking into one of those if it is in your price range.
  2. Check out the Fenwick Aetos, they are 50% off right now, so it makes them only $95. http://www.fenwickfishing.com/fenwick-freshwater-rods-fenwick-aetos/fenwick-aetos-casting/1365054.html#specifications
  3. Check out the Fenwick Aetos, on sale right now for $95!
  4. I would check out the Fenwick Aetos also. Just ordered a 7'2" mh-xf for $100 delivered, will be using it as a jig and occasional worm rod.
  5. Are you fishing from the bank and carrying a bag all day? If so, it might be the weight on your shoulders all day that are causing them to hurt.
  6. If you are also looking at getting a new rod, check out the Fenwick Aetos on Fenwick's site, you can get a $180 for $95.
  7. Well...... If there is a big TW sale that month my monthly spending goes up quite a bit.
  8. plastics- netbait crankbaits- strike king and rapala jigs- All Terrain Tackle
  9. It depends if only going for bass then I would throw a jig with a craw or rodent trailer because of its versatility. However if we are fishing for all species then i would go with either a rooster tail or very small spinnerbait.
  10. I too started off with a silver max, and have used it for 2 seasons with no problems.
  11. I would recommend the Fenwick Aetos as well, especially being on sale right now. I have the mh/f HMG right now for jigs and it is very sensitive, right now im deciding if I want to upgrade to the Aetos while its on sale though.......
  12. On Fenwick's website you can get an Aetos for $126, that is just over $50 of savings!
  13. Check out either the Fenwick HMG or the Aetos.
  14. I know a lot of people are big fans of siebert jigs on the forum and rightfully so! I was wondering though what everyones opinion is on an all around color. If you could pick one color for all water clarity, and parts of the country, what would it be? It can be ones he already makes or it can be a custom one! Thanks!
  15. me and my dad have both have one and have no complaints, they arent your highest of quality but they do their job well.
  16. I suggest fishing real early in the morning or later at night because in the summer that is when the best bass bite will be. Also maybe you arent giving the lures a chance. When I first started fishing I would throw something for 5-10 minutes without a byte, then change lures. Now I give my confidence lures more time and usually they will produce.
  17. Do you all feel there is any sensitivity loss between a medium-heavy and heavy action rod? Just take a generic 7' mh/f and 7' h/f rod, would the mh feel a little more sensitive or do you think it would be the same? Thanks!
  18. Actually it is a different rod that he casted with that broke, after he gets off the golf cart and gets to the pond he has a left handed reel, whereas before he had a right handed.
  19. I have a fenwick HMG, priced at 99.99 but I got mine for $80 or so on sale, it is a great rod that I highly recommend.
  20. I havent tried st.croix but love my fenwicks also.
  21. Everyone has their own opinion as to the best rod, yo can poll 30 people and you will get at least 5-10 different companies, if there was one best rod company no other rod company would be in business. But to answer yor question take a look at the Fenwick HMG's.
  22. I am going to be pirchasing a new rod soon. I would use this mainly for jigs but also occasinally texas rigs. I was wondering what you all think would be the best all around rod? Thanks! Moderator note:
  23. I would also suggest a fenwick hmg rod, $99 and lifetime warranty.
  24. Thanks for the info guys! Also I might also consider the wilderness systems ride 135, I know it is much higher than the other 2 in price but have read fantastic reviews on it. If it is much better than the Ascends then I would get, but is it that much better than the ascends? Thanks!
  25. Hi I have decided to get into kayaking since I am bank bound right now. I do not have a big budget because I am in high school, but have narrowed my choices down to either the Ascend fs12t or fs128t. I am about 5'10" and 140lbs and will be fishing mainly smaller 500 acre reservoirs and the occasional river. What I want to know is of the fs128t is worth the extra $200 over the fs12t. I would love to be able to stand and fish out of my yak, but my only worry is hook setting in the yak. Does either of these kayaks possess the stability to do this? Just wondering if anyone has used either of these yaks and could give me some input. Thanks!
