  1. I recommend the Lews High Speed Spin. http://www.lews.com/spinning-highspeedspin.php
  2. Personally I use casting for most everything, spinning is usually reserved for finesse techniques, I use it for dropshotting, shakey heads, and the neko rig. Casting for everything else, except I do use spinning for smaller 1/4 or 1/8 oz spinnerbaits or chatterbaits from time to time.
  3. I would pick up a lews tournament MB on ebay for $100-$110.
  4. All of my setups have a Lews Speed Spool LFS with them because I feel its the best bang for your buck reel in the $100 price point.
  5. Thanks guys... What about the Casitas, what is it made of?
  6. Im getting a new baitcaster and have narrowed my choices down to either the Shimano Caenan or the Lews Speed Spool LFS. Both are at the $100 price point but which one should I get? Thanks!
  7. It is going to be casting, and i will be throwing 1/2 oz lipless and 1.5 squarebills
  8. Hello, I am going to be getting a new crankbait rod and I was wondering if I should get a 7' medium/fast or a 7' medium/moderate? The rod will be used for squarebills and lipless cranks. I do have a 7' medium/fast right now, would that work and I not spend any for a new rod, or sell that one get one of the 2 previously mentioned. Thank You!
  9. Hi I was wondering if anyone has used or heard anything about the Lews David Fritts Perfect Crank Speed Stick medium/moderate as I am interested in buying one, I will be using it for squarebills and lipless cranks. I'm also looking into the no.8 tackle blackout medium/fast rod for this too. any other suggestions are welcome, Thanks!
  10. I use the Bass Pro shops extreme qualifier 360 and it works really well. Holds up to 10 3600 size boxes and other pockets for all your tools. I personally have 6 3600 boxes in the top and put my soft plastics in the bottom compartment. http://m.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Extreme-Qualifier-360-Backpack-or-System/product/10204414/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT_MTv2
  11. I was wondering if anyone had any input on the Strike King Red eye shad and the Berkley Warpig, any info would be appreciated as I am looking into getting some new cranks. Thanks!
  12. Does anyone know when the next tackle warehouse sale is going to be? About to get some new rods and reels and trying to determine if I should wait for the next sale or not. Thanks!
  13. I use one hand on the rod for flipping/pitching.
  14. I have not used the 6lb test, but used the 15lb this season and did not have a problem with line/knot failure.
  15. The lews speed spool lfs is right at $100.
  16. For $180 i would look into a lews speed spool lfs($100) and a no.8 tackle ***($80).
  17. I do like flouro, im just trying yozuri for a season to see if theres much of a difference. Especially at its price!
  18. Ive been using the 15 lb test for about 6 months now as my first flouro and has performed pretty good. Moving to yozuri hybrid now to see the difference.
  19. Hi, I have been reading more about gear ratios and was wondering if higher ratios make it harder to play a fish. Like say a 7:5:1 ratio would be harder to play a fish than say a 6:8:1 or 6:4:1, is this true? If so please elaborate! Thanks!
  20. Hi I am going to be picking up a new reel for jigs. I have narrowed it down to 2, the lews speed spool lfs and the lews laser pro speed spool. I would go with the laser pro but it has a graphite frame and the lfs has an aluminum. So which one should I get? Are graphite frames really as bad as people say, will it be a big difference or problem? Thanks! EDIT- also would the 31 ipt on one make a big difference compared to the 28 ipt on the lfs? Laser pro- http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=1794273&type=product#reviews lfs- http://www.cabelas.com/product/lew-s-reg-speed-spool-reg-lfs-trade-casting-reel/1885010.uts?searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3FrecordsPerPage%3D18%26No%3D0%26N%3D0%26nl%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DSpeed%252Bspool%252Blfs%26search%3DSearch&No=0&Ntk=AllProducts&Ntt=Speed+spool+lfs
  21. Have you tried a palomar knot?
  22. Instead of buying chatterbaits, you could just buy the blades and put them on regular jigs with a split ring, I do this because jigs usually have a stouter hook than a chatterbait and jigs already have weedguards.
  23. I am in the market for a new worm rod. This will be used mainly for texas rigging soft plastics, I was wondering if I should get the 7' medium or 7' medium heavy. I was thinking about getting the medium because I could use lighter weights if I wanted to, but then I wondered if it would have enough backbone to get a fish out of cover. Also do you think if need be I could put a 1/4oz weight on the medium heavy and it still fish ok? (I'm open to any other rod suggestions but am on a budget and need to keep it around $90 or less) Thanks!
