No I have not been to Muir Woods. I just respect John Muir a great deal. Have you been? I would like to go someday. I don't travel much, but I plan to start once I'm finished with college.

Where do you fish?
Aww...ya'll made my post a "Very Hot Topice" That's awesome (kinda like me) :-*. And believe it or not I read every single one of them. I will absoultly NEVER remember where ya'll are from, but its nice to know that I knew at one point ;D. Wanna know about me? Tough! I'm gonna tell you anyway. I'm from Maine, born, raised and lovin' it for twenty years. I don't fish much, atleast I never have. I used to take my father fishing every year for father's day when I was little (we didn't need licences), but all I ever caught was sunfish. However, I did catch more than my sister!! I started bass fishing last year when I caught my very first, very small, small mouth bass. Now I have caught a total of four bass in my life....WOoT! When I am not fishing, which is most of the time, I love horse back riding, training, and showing. I like taking risks, and I'm the crazy one the will jump on the back of a horse when no one knows how it will respond. I work part time at McDonalds, which I hate, and I'm a full time student at Unity College studying wildlife (which I love). When I finish college I plan on moving out west. Not because I don't love Maine, but because there aren't many job opportunities in my field up here. However, I do hope I get the chance to come back to Maine some day. Ummm...Yup, that's me, if you wanna know more ask!!

Where do you fish?
I just realized that when I joined this forum I was so anxious to get some good advice that I didn't have the time to get to know anything about anyone I was getting advice from. So my question(s) is/are where are you from? Where have you fished and what do you do besides fishing? Oh come on, it will be good to get to know more about each other, and I'm just in one of those moods!! 8-) ;D

What else would you suggest?
Alright, I just got back from Dick's Sporting Goods and here is what I got: Four Beetle Spins-- one orange with black stripes (1/4oz) one white with a red dot (1/4oz), one black with yellow stripes (1/8oz), and some see threw yellow (1/8oz) all have silver "blades" I guess is the correct term. A four inch floating Rapala original (silver) A Strike King spinner bait (1/4oz) yellow and blue And a bunch of Rooster tails all different colors and sizes....which size would you recomend? The lagest one I got is a 3/8oz black with a silver blade. I'm super excited for the tournament now. Dad and I are going out fishing tommorw afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!! Thanks again, Britt

Yet another question....
Atleast I never tried to tell you I could fish. I mean seriously the most I ever did was put a worm on a hook with a bobber and cought a few sun fish and what not. None of the fancy lure stuff. Geeze. I've only caught one bass in my entire life...I really am an amature...geeze! :-/ Haha, anyway............. Where is going to be the best place to fish on this "pond? Yup, that's it, I'm sure you'd all know, so if ya don't mind....PLEASE? :'( Haha..thanks!! 8-) Britt

Please, please, please help me
Alright, I saw the Kinami flash I believe, but is there anything specific I should look for with those? Panamoka_Bassin-- I don't know if this would change how you think or not, but they were tagged Monday and to do so the school used "electrofishing." Do you still think the tube worms would work? My Colllege is "America's Environmental College" leave it to them to come up with fishing for scholarships huh? Thanks again, Britt
-
What else would you suggest?
I'm not very confident with this equipment because I have no idea what any of it does. The only chance I will have to go out fishing before the tournament is Friday night and Saturday. And trust me, I will be out there!! You guys have no idea how much I appreaciate all of your suggestions. I still have three more days to shop for stuff so if you have anymore ideas that will win me a scholarship just let me know!! I'm really actually very excited about the tournament. As far as Bass Pro shops or something.....we don't have ANYTHING like that around here. Wal*Mart has already driven everything out. And for the knots...my dad knows how to do all that stuff. It really sucks that everyone that I talk to from the area says that the best thing to use is worms. d**n artificial lures only rules >!! Well...Thanks again, Britt
-
What else would you suggest?
Well, I went to Wal*Mart tonight, but only found a few things. Rooster Tail-- what color would be best? Rat L Trap-- I got a 1/4oz and a 1/8oz...which do you thing would be better? Also, they didn't have any Senko worms...but I got some "Zoom" worms. Four inches long in a watermelon seed color. Do you think that will work? Someone mentioned something about Mepps-- well I got a "Killer Kit" with six different things in it...none of which do I know anything about ;D So that's what I've gotten so far just from going to Wal*Mart. I'm going to try the trading post and Dick's Sporting Goods tomarrow. I'd like to find the "beetlespin" that a few of you mentioned. Anything else you think I should really have? My father said he would like a "banjo minnow" does that sound like something that would work? Thanks again, Britt OH...LAST BUT NOT LEAST.....The biggest majority of fish that were tagged were white perch.

Please, please, please help me
Thank you all again. The lake is 2,528 acres Last year most of the tagged fish were pickerel We also get a small prize for 1)most small/large mouth bass caught and 2)largerst small/large mouth bass caught. I've written down all of your suggestions and I'm going to head to Wal*Mart to see what I can find. I'll let you know how I make out. Thank you again. And I'm still open to suggestions. ~Britt

Please, please, please help me
The Derby is this Sunday, probably not enough time to meet up with you huh? But if you could talk to your friend from Unity that would be great. Again, Thank you all so much!!

Please, please, please help me
Thank you all so much. Umm...The water is dark? I think. Sorry not really sure on that one Its a pretty big lake so the most cover I will get is a dock, maybe a few rocks The weather lately has been about 90 and humid, if that helps. We are fishing 8am-2pm If I find out more about which fish were tagged I will let you know. Thank for the help. Oh, and by the way, my partner for the derby is my father!! But I'll keep you in mind for next year

Please, please, please help me
Hello everyone. My name is Brittany. I'm twenty years old and I attend Unity College in Unity, Maine. Alright, I need some serious help. Unity College has a fishing for scholorships tournament each year in which they tag fish to be caught. Each tag is worth some sort of scholarship. They tag: large and small mouth bass, white and yellow perch, pickerel, and crappie. We fish on Unity pond which is really a lake and is only considered Unity "pond" if you are in Unity. I don't know much about fishing and I was hoping that you could help me with some good lures for these fish that won't cost me a furtune. No live bait is allowed. Thanx a million. If you need any more info just let me know. ~WishICouldFish~
