2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
The tackle trap had them at that price, but this was months ago.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
I've only had time with the original Tatula SV, not the 2020 version, but that seemed to me the most refined Tatula to date, both cosmetically and mechanically. Especially at a $135 new reel price, it just looks so much better than the new version. Maybe I'm just a sucker for frame porting, lol. The new version just doesn't do anything for me.

Daiwa SS SV
If that is what you decide to do and you're a righty, you can get it cheaper at tackle trap.

Coastal sv tw 150
I bet somebody could with a CNC. That little lip/ trim piece on the frame is about 1mm wide so you'd be left with half of that.

Coastal sv tw 150
You mean these? lol I've made alphas/pixy spacers too, for a bud on another forum Yeah, just fill the stock spool to your requirements. There aren't any other SV spools that will fit without them. Well...there might be some DIY ones, but I'm not sure.

Coastal sv tw 150
Yeah. It's a shame ZPI isn't making spools anymore, so this'll have to do!

Coastal sv tw 150
I put spacers in mine to accept 33mm OG Tatula SV spools. My ZPI M spool can't get here soon enough! Now I'll be covered with techniques and capacities.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
When I service my reels, I'm of the same camp. Less is more, but I've never seen a brand new reel with this much.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
Oh, and pop the side plate off and check for grease on the gears. It was extremely smooth out of the box, but for how long? Daiwa seems to be notorious for shipping these newer models from the factory dry. Next to nothing on them. .

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
Yeah definitely, there's not much info out there about them. Yeah, I just sold my Coastal TWS to fund the SV. I had an HD custom 153 spool in mine which turned it into Magforce Z. Great reel. You can get the Coastal SV new for that price at sportsmans outfitters. Use code "ABANDONED" to get $5 off the $179.99 list price. I'd hurry though. I don't think they have many left.

Inexpensive frog rod
For years, when I first got into baitcasting, I used an Abu Veritas 2.0 7'3" MH for frogging and really liked it. It's on the heavy side of power and I used it to toss those 1oz Live Targert field mice with great success along with your standard size frogs.

2020 Daiwa Tatula SV vs. Daiwa Elite
Would like to hear what you think. I had the first gen Tat SV for a bit and really liked it. Haven't tried the others though.

Don't sleep on the Coastal SV. You can currently get them for under $175 shipped. Got mine yesterday. Threw it at the local pond and I've got to say, it is one sweet reel.

Daiwa TATULA 150 (New Handle Suggestions)
What size are you looking for, 90...100mm or smaller? What type of material, aluminum... carbon fiber? If you want the same thing as the stock handle, here you go. https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=898_660_654&products_id=5136

Tatula SVTWS vs SS SV103
Daiwa #1's, but its got the normal 3 disc stack like you'd see in a TDZ. One of a couple things that differs from the SS SV 103 models. There's not much info on the 105's, so I was surprised.

Tatula SVTWS vs SS SV103
Which model are you referring to (103 or 105)? Do you have any Daiwa reels that use a 34mm free floating spool? That's whats great about the platform. Don't like the way a certain spool acts, pop in another one and have a whole different animal. It's also part of the fun for me. When people say the SS SV is overbraked, they're talking about the spool. I picked up a SS SV 105 (which has a shallower spool than the 103) over the winter and have been fishing with it for the last week and really enjoy it's performance. Unfortunately, I don't have experience with the 103 spool, but this reel is light, palmable and looks great. I haven't felt any hollowness or rough retrieve as some people notice with the magnesium frame and zaion sideplates. The 105 model does have brass teeth on the main gear as opposed to alloy on the 103 model. If you're in to tinkering and trying things out, I'd say go for it. Aftermarket parts are plenty for this reel. Keep in mind the SS SV comes with an 80mm handle and the USDM Tat SV has a 90mm one. Also, people complain of the drag being too weak in the SS SV, but I change all my discs to carbontex anyways. That being said, if you just want to pick up a reel and go, the Tatula SV would be a homerun. I haven't tried the new model but I've fished with the older version and most people say it has been improved upon.

That's awesome! Sounds like a keeper.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hard to see because it's whitewashed in that photo, but it's a SS SV 105 that I've painted the nose piece and engine plate cover and modified a TDZ line guide to fit.

Just finished up the painting and rebuild of this TDZ. Ported the frame on a manual mill.

I need a Lews BB1Z anti reverse bearing
I've had to remove a few recently and I'll place the side plate on a folded up micro fiber towel, grab a socket that is about the same diameter as the sleeve and throw it all under an arbor press.
