  1. We were bank fishing once and my friend just reached in and grabbed a 2 pound bass with his bare hands.
  2. ^^ Same. Lowes is closer to me ,1/2 the time of going to HD. Checkout is always faster. I dont go there first though usually. I like the smaller chain we have called Curry- Thomas hardware. Its less hassle to get to than lowes, and is never crowded.Much smaller store, but they usually have whatever I need, mainly because Im fixing something. One if their stores even has a gunsmith. If they dont have what I need, or if Im remodeling something,I go to Lowes.
  3. If you ever want to share some spots, let me know.Ive been fishing East of the river since I was a kid.
  4. Check to see if some of the line got wrapped around the handle. Its happenned to me before!
  5. I had a catfish pull a cane pole off the dock one cold night when I was 15 or so. I jumped right in and chased it around since it floated. I would almost catch it and the fish would take off again.I finally caught up with it and headed down the road to the house. Absolutedly the coldest Ive ever been in my life.Air temperature was around 28 when I jumped in,but I got the pole back with the fish!
  6. Yeah that does seem strange. Our part of Florida starts in Nov. and ends in feb.( for small game ) and each public management area may have different dates.
  7. It doesnt in Florida. We can hunt hogs on private land al year though. I love being in the woods in fall and winter but its miserable out there right now. Skeeters, chiggers, ticks, spiders,Yellow flies ,yellow jackets, scorpions, venemous snakes, wild animals and the humid Florida heat.
  8. •The outlaw Josey wales. •The blue and the gray •Braveheart •The searchers •The Patriot These are all about equal for #1 Very slight descending order!!!
  9. As my son would say " A chip off the ol" beef" Its just as fun if not more fun when your kids or grandkids whup up on you...
  10. Thanks. I personally think they come into shallow water early in the morning and stay til 8-9. Caught this one at 7 a.m in about 3 feet of water.Only bite on the frog from 6.30 to 8 or so. I dont have as much confidence in late evening hours.Theyre usually pretty sluggish after a long , hot day.
  11. Looks like a great day. Great video .I have fished cristy critters before and have never gotten bit on them ,which is strange because the fish here love soft plastics.
  12. Ive also got a 40 lb thrust minn kota I switch between my jon and bass hunter. It does great on small water bodies. It even lifts the front out of the water so if Im alone I put a heavy block in front to weigh it down and it goes a little faster.
  13. They might be busy but they still shouldnt tell you one thing and do something else. That being said , i would still try to be patient and explain to them what you were originally told and ask for a new ,realistic deadline. If they dont honor it then go somwhere else.
  14. Soft plastics and frogs fished as slow as you can stand it.If youre already fishing those and catching dinks, then go to a bigger size bait. You could also try the solunar feeding times specifically for bigger fish with these baits/ speed.I only rarely check them but its good if you only have a couple hours to fish and cant decide when to go. If you have been fishing the same baits/ speeds/ times of day ,switch it up and try something different. I know this wont go over well with some, but live bait is a great big fish producer for me in summer. The reason I dont do it as much is that its 2-3 times the work to catch the bait ,keep it alive ,and make the presentation. No better bait than live wild shiners!!!?
  15. Thats a nice sheepie there. About 8 pounds? Excellent eating!! Thats a nice sheepie there. About 8 pounds? Excellent eating!! Fiddler crab bait ?
  16. •You will catch bass on live bait in summer ,fall , winter ,and spring •You will catch bass on live bait whether its north , south , east , or west . • You will catch bass on live bait in big rivers ,little rivers, creeks , big lakes ,small lakes , and ponds I cant explain why you dont catch them on artificials only in the summer. Sometimes when the bite gets tougher in summer I pull out the live bait , and it generally produces. But I dont think its sad ....?
  17. I cleared some attachments since there is a limit.( Thanks to Riverbasser ) And Glenn said to downsize the photo so I got a free picture Re- sizer app. (Thanks,Glenn ) Now my pic uploads work fine.
  18. Theres more to it than this ,but what helped me the most was positioning myself where I could cast with the wind over and over until I got it. It must be set up right with the brake etc and the pins inside the reel.Watch Glenns video , he explains it .
  19. Got 2 boats and a kayak out back ready to go most any time... after peter t. bbq of course....
  20. For sake of time,I'll just mention my favorite spinning rig. It's a 6.6 ugly stick mh.with a shimano Stradic, spooled with 10 lb yo-zuri hybrid line. But I confess, I also have some bait casting combos too.
  21. Man that sounds like fun.
  22. If you do let me know.
  23. Lonnie You ever getting back down here?
  24. I have a 3 hrs. Kicker for my 12 ft Jon and it pushes it pretty good .
  25. Yeah. I caught my pb on a Jelly worm. It wouldn't disappoint me in the least to catch a new pb on the frog though.
