Thanks. I did a couple ponds today after work and worked hard for 2 fish. Niether one will be on my repeat list. I have been trying to find some new ponds to put on the list but I havent found any good ones lately. I Still have a fair list, having grown up in this area. I often just get lazy and fish out back in the lake Ive fished since I was a teen. Now they are saying bad weather til saturday. ( wind ) I may go anyway. I have a friend that fishes the orlando area a lot . We have talked about me going down to fish some of his spots. Orlando seems to have as many if not more ponds than jax in my observation.

Happy thanksgiving Y'all. Glad your mom is better. My mom passed last year 6 weeks before thanksgiving, after living with us the last 5 years of her life. Just hard to believe she is gone ,but at 96 , she had lived a very full and meaningful life. I am very thankful I got to be with her as long as I did. And looking forward to a reunion!!

Strange , a million people in the area now and only a out of stater comments. My report is that the bite has slowed some so Im focusing more on saltwater right now even though due to work and my truck being broke down , I havent been able to go in the salt for a month or so. Hopefully, that will change over thanksgiving weekend.Hoping to go inshore , surf fishing , and bass fishing before monday. Lonnie, I hope your mom's ok. I will be praying.

I came in 2nd once with a one fish total of 1.14. Top that !

I used to back on the farm. Fish in the creek and carry a 410/22 over/ under mostly for squirrels. Back when N.E Florida was still pretty wild.

I dont have any old pics on my phone so these 3 are all from the last year or two. The first is my G- daughter , The second is the 5th biggest bass Ive ever caught. The third was almost my pb. ( 2nd biggest )

I dont use swivels for my usual soft plastics because it makes them sink faster , the fish can see them , I have other rods rigged anyway with different baits, and I retie to avoid nicks in the line continually. Bottom line is that I didnt catch very many fish back in the day when I used them. The only advantage I see in using them is convenience, which isnt a good reason As far as releasing fish , I think some die if theyre gut hooked but when the gills are injured they nearly always die. I keep injured fish for awhile to watch them and see if they make it or not. If not , time for a fish fry! ? I havent had many fish break off with a lure in its mouth. My opinion is most of them will survive.

Decided to fish the south (deeper ) end of the lake and caught 7 , mostly on zoom super flukes in watermelon seed and red shad. Also Picked 1 off on the ultravibe speed craw.

Its been quiet since friday. I havent forgotten anything ( I dont think ) or locked anything up or had any problem atall . Somethings fixing to happen , I know it.

I just dont have a DAWG in that hunt. As much as Id like someone to topple bama I just cant bring myself to root for GA. But it should be a great game !

At least yall won yesterday. As much as Id like to stay positive, it looks like we wont get a bowl game this year. We both need new coaches. Both teams have had a tradition of success and our fans are struggling to handle the setbacks we've had recently.

I would never feel sorry for otters. They are gluttons. They will kill fish just for the sport of it ,eat a couple mouthfuls and move on to another fish. They cleaned out my whole lake of catfish. Its legal to hunt them in florida, at certain times of year. I could not figure out why I couldnt catch any cats, until I saw the otter.They did not seem to hurt the bass or bream pop. though. I got up early several days in a row to hunt the one I was seeing. Got him in my sight one morning with my .410. Fixing to pull the trigger and my wife hollered dont shoot it. He went under and after that was much craftier. I tried trapping it with no success, then finally prayed about it. Havent seen one since !!? we do have nutria rats, which are eating my grass on the lakebank. But they are easy to trap and dont eat fish.

A lot of our reports come from local fish camps and guides. I feel like they are often biased towards phony or exaggerated reports of good fishing to gerenerate more business. I used to listen to the report and go there and the results were nearly always poor. I cant remember them ever saying it was poor,unless it was an obvious weather event causing it, like a hurricane. Its best to get to know some trusted sources, but I usually draw my own conclusions in my neck if the woods.

Got in a couple hours last evening. Decided to fish the N. end of the lake closer to home. Its shallower overall, and weedier. The middle and south end is deeper and usually holds more quality fish and numbers, so I fish it more. So the bite was off compared to the last several trips. Could be the high pressure system. Could be partially that the lake was slick calm. Could be it was that part of the lake, although I caught my pb.in that area. Still caught 7-8. Still biting the 4 inch tequila worm .Nice evening on the water anyway. This was one of the better ones.

Its been cool here but now warming up again. I looked in that truck 3 times and didnt find them . Then found them under the clutter. The fish LOVE these worms. Cheapest bait I have had this much success with. Yeah you best come on down - its usually nice until january. and sometimes ALL winter.

I think about that ,and even say it out loud. But so far havent done it yet.

Man, Id love to do that. My BIL in richmond has found lots of cool stuff. He gave me some minie balls and buttons he found. You ever see aquachigger on you tube?His videos are great.
