  1. I fished delancy a lot back in the 80s especially and I remember ol Carl.He was a rough old codger. But I never heard that about RVZ before.I wished I knew that then but that's cool to hear it now.I'd love to see that fish.
  2. HeyThanks for the great post.I knew that was RVZ .cause I've seen that video.I thought that was probly in Drs lake near his house .Skynyrd was my favorite southern rock band.I relate to what they sang about.Allen Collins lived on julington creek acrost the river and the bass would bed in his canal every spring .It was part of a spring pattern I fished in there.I agree that the water was polluted but I swear I caught more back then than I did more recently.Back then,a red shad culprit worm was the hot bait there. As for whiteys suburbia has crept in and its not out in the woods anymore. But the foods good.I think they told me the catfish come from Mississippi now. They quit having frog legs though which was real dissapointing. They do have summer bass tournaments there every Thursday night. And that lake you mentioned down in the Ocala forest that Ronnie caught the 12 pounder in sounds like Delancy. I Fished camped and hunted around there a lot.
  3. Got 3 ugly sticks.They are cheap but tough.They're all I need. .
  4. Man just cut to the chase and give me good ole ugly sticks.I've got 3 of them and that's all need.
  5. Yeah my sons in the air force and he's getting transferred there soon so I need to find out about the fishing there too.
  6. I agree with you.I had used senkos before but wasn't very confident in them so I didn't catch much.I had a friend that sold for a soft plastic bait co.and he gave me several bags of 5 and 6 inch senkos with different colors.I would just use them occasionally and got moderate results. At the time my hot bait was zoom super flukes but I had some June bug 6 inch senkos and I began to use them at dusk and the bass would nail them while I was reeling in.So I now always carry some in my arsenal of baits. Most of the fish that hit the bigger senkos were toads too.I have similar results with horny toads and z-hogs in the summer.Anyway,I have another friend who likes the smaller senkos and that's how I started on them.We fished my lake and I got 10 on flukes and he got 9 on the 4 inch senkos (gm) and I found a new go to bait. But I get a fish over 3 with them occasionally.
  7. Yeah we have them up here too. They try to nab snappers as you pull them up.
  8. Ive caught a lot of big copperheads ( What we call bluegills in FL.) in the st johns river about 35 miles S of jax. Also big redbreast and shellcrackers.I just use worms on 6 pound line with a #6 bronze eagle claw and a split shot. The rivers full of them.Docks and shell bars are the best for them.We did have some nice sized ones in my lake but a fish kill caused it to decline but they're trying to recover
  9. Yeah I see the teeth now.Cool.
  10. I caught a 11 1/2 inch shellcracker in my lake.It was 11 inches around.

  12. 6.3 pounds caught on a watermelon red producto tournament worm.7 inch.
  13. I had a friend get some 5 inch and they fished a numbers lake for 2 hours and didn't catch ONE.I fish the same lake with 4s and often catch 20 in a few hours. Most are small but there's some good fish mixed in.
  14. Yes!I haven't fished much with the 5"s though because the 4 is so good.Where I fish they like anything with watermelon red or seed.
